For my part, I can tell you this: Although I lived in the area a decade and a half ago, I do occasionally visit for longer periods of time. Whenever I've asked for help, I've been treated very well. I think if you have a good track record, whether in Baltimore or in some other part of the country, if you have a good reputation, and even a modest posting history, people will generally try to help you.

But people can smell a guy who just wants to be helped and doesn't much want to help others. So as others have advised, try going out to have your own experiences. Do this wherever you are, but especially in Baltimore if you come back. Then come back to the forum and share your experiences, even if just means giving advice or your analysis of "the life", how to stay safe and healthy, etc. Just try to be helpful to others, whether providers or mongerers.

Folks down south are generAlly more polite with "sirs" and "ma'ams". It is a completely different environment than around here. With that beig said, south folk are also a tad bit slower in general (not saying you are Spurs) but been all around in the south and some are lazy and / or stupid.

On the other hand, seems like the further north you go, the ruder folks are.
