Years ago, wasn't Evergreen called Hoban? It was a Korean restaurant I think. Of course dementia may have set in and I could be wrong. How about Club La La or Club Tomo? The original Crystal Palace on Sheridan St. Johnny's Place on Kona Street next to Seiko and Lollipop. Starstrip for dinner. Used to be a 4 am bar kindof across from Sada's (or Saba's). It was a 2nd floor place with a rather wide staircase leading up to it (I do believe it was located where KHON is now along with maybe a mattress store?. Again, dementia could be taking over, but wasn't Green Tea known as Hoban II? I cried when Walmart emptied that lot, must have killed about 10 bars.
SS.
Green Tee was known as Hoban when Nani owned it in the mid / late 90's. Before that, Nani called it Hilltop. Wasn't Lala on Hopaka next to Side Street? Tomo is where Romantei or whatever it is called now. After selling Club Tomo, Tomo opened up Snack Aoyama on King Street.

Johnny is no longer able to attract good talent anymore, unlike when he had SP and SPII. If the superblock wasn't there, perhaps many hostess bars still would be. There aren't any classy places anymore, such as Vichon.
Yes, Lala was there JR. Hopaka bars had some insanely hot girls.
Anyone remember Tomo, the skinny curvy big-titted BBBJ 69 expert at Club 825? Pretty much sat with that same guy with the glasses every night.
Best action I had was with Mariko. That diva was expansive but worth every pennies of it. Last time I heard she moved to the mainland.
Negative. Mariko is here. Caught her at Xclusive a couple months ago, but she doesn't work consistently. Next time you go Xclusive and if she's not there try ask the bartenders when she works next.

Bartender from Thai Angel told me she went to the mainland. Maybe she is back from a short vacation? Anyway I went to Exclusive recently she was not there.
Heard some EG girls heading to the Chill. Lots of moving next couple of weeks. Just old faces. Nothing new!

Evergreen
I memory serves me correctly Evergreen was Niagra for a short bit also. I believe the back parking lot stall still says Niagra.
Evergreen was originally a restaurant that was converted into a KB / Kengo's Restaurant, across First Hawaiian Bank Kapiolani. In the past, Evergreen was paired (neighbor) with Kapiolani Bakery (now defunct).

And on the DH side was Pioneer Federal Bank. Chatterbox was right behind it. Walking towards Keeaumoku st was Clinton's Place behind See's candy. Anyone remember?.
Tiffany's for breakfast, Office Club, Rebecca's were all the same bar DH of Pioneer Federal Bank.
See's Candy, KFC, Dawn's Amusement were right across Walgreens in the days.

Woohoo! Mr H Mob, you must have gotten miss tomo away from the glasses guy a few times to know that she's a BBBJ 69 expert! 😉😉 hehe!
I kind of remember most of the bar names mentioned, but kind of foggy on exactly where they were located. I don't remember club 825, where was that one?

These old bar names ring a bell, but a little foggy on the details. Hoban must have been 80's?
Just curious how much were the $20 bar girl drinks back then?
And now along those lines. I was never clear about this. What is a nekohana, is that different from a $20 bar girl drink? If there's a difference, what's the difference.
Mahalo braddahs for all the info, memories, and camaraderie we have here.

When you wake up, still get change. Lots of horny Korean bar girls, lots of freebies after Bar closed. Miss the good old days.

I think the hostess's name was Christy with the big fake tits who put out heavy in EG every night, amassing enough money to open HJC. Unfortunately, she attracted big bruddas who wanted to scrap so the cops were always going there. No decent paying customers so she soon went out of business and went back to hostessing at EG, but lost her looks by then.
Diane's was behind PFB; she had massive tits that helped her get her own bar. Biggest bar tits I've seen at that time.

Mahalo braddahs for all the info, memories, and camaraderie we have here.
When strip bars such as Club Rose were Korean:
$5 was a small glass of water at an open booth.
$10 was a small drink with alcohol in an open booth.
$20 was anything but usually alcohol, in the back table where the girl would undress and give HJ, BBBJ, BBFS and takeout negotiations depending how things went. Rent wasn't crazy like it is now so most girls lived alone and would bring a customer home with her to make even more money. Other girls used their skills to pay off their condo.
Was fun seeing the girl walking home with a guy, seeing who was next to get lucky.
Sit down (non-strip) hostess bars were similar without the hard play. Either way, you could spot the top producers because rather than take a cab, they drove home in a very expensive car.
825 was up the stairs fronting what was Crystal Palace, now closed, near PT. It later became SPII. One side was a regular bar and the other side was nothing but huge round booths in dim lighting that girls would take guys to play inside. Place was big.

Kengo's started as a restaurant / bar; he later moved his operation right next door (DH-side) as Kengo's Buffet; a Japanese bar on the second floor was also available, but did not go there. Roger on Tiffany, Office, and Rebecca's (same dog, different fleas) tenure at the same location; ugliest bar counter ever, featuring an aquarium-like motif complete with outrageously colored fish and bubbles. Anyway, future KB, CB, and VB owners when work at that location at one time or another (they when learn good from Ann and Patty). Had some KBs and nightclubs along Kona Street, right across Ala Moana Center, way before now Nordstrom, Bankoh, etc. Had one cigar shop with walk-in humidor, too.
Kapiolani Bakery was popular with old fashioned pastries, pies, cakes, the works (butter rolls was big and buttery, not like nowadays skimpy and dry); when taste ono because hard work went into making everything; owners and workers were also good people (that all adds to the ono flavor). JR knows the good stuff.

Biggest bar tits title got to belong to Sachi now. She was at the Chill. Don't know where she is at now.

Nekohana?
Braddah H Mob.
Thanks for the explanation, but which is a nekohana? Is there a difference between a nekohana and a lady drink?
Mahalo,
