I hope she captured the context
I have no problem with being quoted and she is free to interpret it however she wants so long as the full context was understood. That sentence quoted by itself could be taken to mean that I don't tolerate women who are professionally driven, unconventional, gay, or even just liberal. That is not the case at all. I just don't want one of those women as my most trusted and intimate partner in life; what would we have in common?
I don't know anything about the writer, but let's assume that her writing is in defense of orientation or some kind of 'unconventional' lifestlye. She rightly doesn't want to be treated differently or marginalized. Why would my personal desire for a more conventional be any more wrong?
The other part of my post which may not have been clear is that in my experience, which is far from empirical, a lot of women in the DC area are just not very nice. I don't enjoy being berated or taken for granted.
The bottom line is that it seems that this writer is taking select quotes in order to create impressions that might be prejudicial which is not helped by the fact that they are solely sourced from this site. But she has limited space to post her articles, and after all she is free to have her forum as we do ours.
I just say live and let live. Responding with vitriol in our posts and comments to her will not be constructive. Disagree all you want, but show a little courtesy if you want your point to be considered.
Edit: So I went and found the article that was posted by Ms. Hess. First, she didn't name me by handle or attempt to 'out' me, so for that she has some credibility and sense of ethics as well as my thanks. However she asserts that I am looking for a foreign woman who is alienated from American culture. While that could be possible be inferred in reality it just isn't true, and the images that can conjure about are definitely inflammatory and prejudicial. I don't hate American women, and I don't need a submissive village girl. I don't know why this is so hard to understand. If you've ever been to Colombia it would be apparent; they can be the most cosmopolitan as well as loving and loyal women in a relationship but are also quite assertive and they certainly don't take any shit or abide any unfaithfulness in their men. They offer equal respect in kind. That is what I would like, not some kind of unliberated or uneducated girl from some remote village as she suggests.
From what little I have read though I think the writer seems to at least be reporting as honestly and ethically in so much as her own beliefs will allow.
We are an amazing set of cowards.
Married men on the board, I exempt you due to your circumstances.
But, if you are single and stay quiet about your hobbying you are doing no one a favor.
Many of you act as if you think you are doing something wrong when buying commercial sex.
I assure you otherwise. Don't believe me listen to Mr. Alan Dershowitz.

I guess the puritan ethic takes long to get out of the system.
If we had any backbone we would have places like this in DC

True story:
I have a friend, in his 50s, good looking, makes good money, divorced, a little overweight. Known for dating skanks. His last girlfriend (he finds them on dating sites) almost made my stomach turn, they broke up in time. Now what is the difference between looking on dating sites to get laid or going to a spa? At the spa you are guaranteed quality and product.
I went to his house recently, the conversation went to women that we knew. What do you think of her, and what about that one. He has always been confused at how unimpressed I am with the women around us.
I explain to him:
If I wanted to date a man I would go ahead and become a homosexual. There is no need for me to date a woman who acts and looks like a man, but is less loyal and interesting.
Remember, the women you enjoy at the spa, no matter how much you complain about them, are a hundred times more pleasurable to be with than what most men settle for.
At this point I explain to him how I get down, in detail. His jaw drops, I look him dead in his eyes and explain to him "those women most men cupcake for, I get 10 times better on the regular." He tells me he wants me to take him next time I go. That weekend I take him to my favorite spot (but not to my favorite girl).
I show up at the door (mama knows me well) , she is shocked that I show up with another male (I guess this is very uncommon). Regardless, I choose his partner for him by name and pay his fees. The experience turns this older man into a little boy, like a rook he was done long before time up. Had to wait on me as I was in no rush. His whole perspective has been shaken, I can already see the difference in him and it is a big improvement.
Moral of the story:
Your silence is hurting others, and possibly yourself. It is always moral to pay grown women generously for commercial sex (while treating them with respect) , actually it is the most natural thing in the world. Stop feeling guilty. If you have a woman in your life that is more trouble than necessary, well nix the *****.
Remember, there is only one reason why we are persecuted. It is because they are simply jealous that some of us continue to have fun!
Amanda Hess and the media
I had a brief interaction with Amanda Hess. She tows the politically-correct line in thinking that "massage parlors" = "human trafficking". The underlying (incorrect) assumption is that no woman would sell sexual services without being forced. It's a peculiarly American viewpoint.
I challenged her to find anything useful / relevant on google about "human trafficking", and she responded stupidly. But she didn't actually read any of the links, that was painfully obvious.
Here's what you should keep in mind: the media controls the media. If the author of a story has a viewpoint, you can be assured that the author will pick and choose citations in support of that viewpoint. You are helpless against that. Your contributions will be edited and you WILL be quoted out of context. Guaranteed.
For example, here's a typical massage parlor bust story, as it appears in the media:
-
Police in so-and-so jurisdiction busted XYZ massage parlor and arrested X people. Jane Doe #1 (age 45) , Jane Doe #2 (age 37) , and Jane Doe #3 (age 35) were arrested for solicitation.
Jimmy Bob from the Prostitution Is Bad International Human Rights Organization said "Thank God another massage parlor has been shut down. So many teenagers are forced into this work, it makes my heart bleed". He went on to state that many massage parlors are "fronts" for forced prostitution.
[insert heart-breaking irrelevant story about teenager here]
-
Me again. So you see, in the public's mind,"massage parlor" = "human trafficking". No one reads these things with a critical eye, they just say "cluck-cluck, glad those bastards got busted" and turn the page, or click the next link, or whatever.
Remember, the media is a business and they need to get readers and make a profit. They are far more interested in selling their stuff than revealing the "truth".
Disclaimer: I know human trafficking occurs. I've seen it. But massage parlors (usually) aren't it.
Nice time at a nice place
I am visiting DC and I visited a nice, clean place today near McPherson Square. The overall experience was nice and I will repeat before I leave. I will not mention or give out the name of the place or the lovely lady for all those who do know about because it appears to be the last one around. I walked my ass off going to M street, Conn, and many more and this was the only one I saw open. Gents, who like this type recreational activity, enjoy.

Hobbyists needed for Washington, DC position!
Ok, we know that the morality police have taken Sky, Mist and Jasmine from us right.
No big deal, we just need to innovate.
I know great spas in DC that are working under capacity right now, which means they need you! Stressful day, these places will make it all better.
I have been PMing members, and most people seem to not know these places are open for business.

Also as a side, I read today that a new SUPER brothel is opening in New Zealand. Any hobbyist heading down under should definitely check this place out!

Uuuuummm, mixed experiences,
This place that you speak of, you never gave a location, sir.
Looking to find the spots
So my brother and I lived in dc for a while and left, but now were coming back and we want to try this thing out so where are to good spots at in dc or northern VA. And what do all these acronyms mean. Please hook me up.
DC Closures (probably old)
After a very long hiatus, I happened to be downtown today at Dupont Circle. Having time and cash, I checked:
Asian Mist aka Dupont Therapy (formerly Supra) : Closed, with note on the door and red evidence tape sealing the door.
The Green Door (the other 1333) : I didn't linger due to some shady characters nearby, but I didn't see a bell to ring, so I'm guessing this one is closed.
14K. I knew this was probably still closed, but I was nearby. And they even covered it with a decontamination tent.
I'm sure this isn't news to those who frequent DC more often than I. I went back a few pages on this forum and didn't see anything either. I miss 2004.
Can anyone PM me with any places in DC that are still open? I was also curious about Lisa at the finger care place.
Guess I'll head to the condo tomorrow.
