I guess I am nieve. How can I be arrested for entering a hotel room?

1.) When you call the girl even though No Donations or Services was discussed on the phone prior to you coming, they will manipulate what you said on the phone because they don't always record or tap into the conversations.
2.) LEO's word always works against your own. Sad but true.
There maybe more reasoning behind it but from experience (because providers being entrapt works the same way) I know this for a FACT at least for you coming to them.
TOFTT is never a bad idea if they are new to the area but The only way to make sure is sticking with girls with reviews. Good or Bad, either way you know they are real.

I realize, very quickly, cops can arrest you, at any given time. A friend of mines, was visiting his aunt, they were doing a drug sting. They arrested him. 4 being in the area. Get this, he is a cop. They didn't care. Of course, he beat the charges and sued everyone in sight. But, that's not the point. They don't need a reason.

I remember seeing another hobbyist in a different thread talking about carrying always a weapon to his meetings and even bragging about his "Lethal Weapon" style escapes from the pimps and all I could think about was. Dude! Who are you really trying to impress! Are you just plain stupid!

Are you leaving a few teensie weentsie details out like what you said on the phone, e-mail or your first few minutes in the room? You won't get arrested for walking in a hotel room unless there is evidence that you are "entering to commit prostitution". Why would someone want us to post details in our reports? Why would someone try to scare us into not going to hotel rooms because we might get busted? Just for being in a hotel room? I made appointment 4 an incall. I never discuss funds with the female decoy. The sting was in place. When I show up. They arrested me. I beat all charges, and my record was sealed. Going through that process was painful.
Keep in mind, this incident occurred in New York. Don't know, how they operate here in Florida.

Light you are claiming you saw an ad and answered it, the only thing you or she ever said on the phone was basically Hi I saw your ad (which I assume did not offer sex explicitly or it would enter the realm of entrapment) I would like to come and meet you, she gave you the address and nothing else was ever said or discussed. Upon arriving at the hotel you knocked on the door, walked in and you were immediately arrested without either you or she ever saying one word to each other?
Wow thats amazing, you have one hell of a lawsuit against the LEOs involved because they arrested you for nothing based on what you said. Not to mention most of not all of those stings are video recorded, so you have even more ammo to file a Federal civil rights suit. Unless you make a verbal statement or other action that indicates you are giving money to another in return for sex then they have nothing to charge you with. That is why an undercover female can not offer specifics out to entice you, but has to have you state or do things that verify that YOU are the one offering money for sex. If the undercover comes straight out and says I will do x for Y amount of money, she has enticed you to do something you normally would not do. (the definition of entrapment).
Now as far as your case being thrown out and sealed. I was not there so I can not say why, but I can say that most misdemeanor arrests in NY are ACD, or adjourned in contemplation of dismissal. That is if you do not have any kind of arrest history. Basically it says don't get in trouble in 6 months and the case is dropped and sealed. I tend to believe this is how the case was sealed and the charges dropped. Cops are like everyone else, you have bad and good but I highly doubt that you were arrested for saying you would like to meet a girl over the phone, never discussed money or services, was invited there, merely walked into the door and was immediately arrested. Not to mention the backup team with the survaelance equipment is generally next door waiting for the undercover to give the go signal to come in for the arrest. In NY the cops go to jail for arresting people for no reason.
Now we have your friend of mines, who was a cop and arrested merely for being in the area of a sting? Was this in NY also? Thats a lot of stings going on. So he beat all the charges? What charges? And sued everyone in sight? Where did this occur? Its very easy to research any cop getting arrested somewhere, as the press eats it up and theres always a huge paper trail. So just say the location and the date it occurred and its easy enough to find out what happened. It sounds more like maybe he was at his Aunts and a family member was being arrested and he interfered and was arrested. Thats just my guess but it makes a lot more sense that a cop just standing there minding his own business and being arrested because a block away there was a sting going down.
In closing if what you say is true that the 2 of you were so wrongly arrested, jailed and had your civil rights so badly violated, especially in a state like NY, you two would have hit the jackpot and won a ton from civil lawsuits that would have costs you nothing as there are tons of lawyers in NY that do these cases for a living, including the NY ACLU.
Lastly you state cops do not have to give a reason to arrest you. Well not quite. Once a person is arrested and secured and the situation is under total control the arresting officer must tell you why you are being arrested. He can not just say hes not telling you. He does not have to explain to you the basis for the arrest, but he does have to explain that to his supervisor, who verifys its a legitimation arrest and then to the Assistant state attorney or the assistant district attorney, who again must agree that probable cause that a crime exists and probable cause that the person arrested committed that crime.
You are right that no one should carry a gun unless they are ready to use it. Why would someone carry one if they are not? I personally don't carry a weapon but if I did and my safety was in jeopardy I would use it.
In closing any cop anywhere on any given day can flake someone and arrest them for no reason. With that said, it is very rare and far between. Do some of them stretch the truth, probably. Why? I will never understand, with all the evil out there, I am sure they can find someone breaking the law and deserves to be arrested. I just find it hard to believe that you and your friend were both arrested for absolutely nothing. The whole story would be so much more enlightening.

Does anyone here not believe you can be detained and perhaps arrested for just being in the wrong place? Come on, guys. Never underestimate the enthusiasm of LEO to accomplish their job right then. If you can be intimidated and never darken their door again, that works for them. If you show any resistance, verbal or otherwise, you can be arrested and you are the one who has to go to all the trouble to straighten out the situation. If they say you are guilty, you are until they either drop it or you get before a judge and think of all that entails. Say nothing other than your name and produce I'd if they ask. Anything more and you may have just set yourself up. Rights? You would have to assert them and even that will get you hauled depending on how busy they are and how much you have inconvenienced them. You would be well advised to know and have the # of an attorney with you if you practice this hobby.

You didn't "beat" the charges, the system gave you a pass on your first time around.

I spent most of my life in N. Y. And just like here only the DUMMIES get caught, like any game if you know the rules and always play by them you'll come out a winner, if you don't know the rules this game can be dangerous or screw up your family life at a minimum.
As far as cops going to great lengths to catch mongers that is a fantasy, they don't have to, there are plenty of guys who don't know the rules and run their mouth and head for jail. Hitting the jackpot, so I thought myself when I had my own case which ended with Nolo Persc. I could not even find a civil lawyer who would take the case. The lawyers that were willing to take the case asked for large $$ and were not sure if they would win. Keep in mind these lawyers did not even bother going through the case.
I believe VS knows the case and its details I have even contacted him with all the details.
The charges were not even solicitation for prostitution. They were loitering and resisting a police officer without violence. The 2nd charge was because I kept my mouth shut so the officer you do not want to talk your obstructing my investigation. Of course. 2nd charge did not hold. The perscutor changed loitering to soliciting for prostitution. The laywer took it to jury court with a not guilty plea.
The officer who arrested me, talked to me and the girl. He says he will release me if I admit and tell him the truth! He did release the girl.
Most important conclusion do not talk. I had a very good video...

I had a very good video.[/QUOTE]While I was stopped in denver back in the 90s with a SW in the car the officer gold me to tell him the truth as to what I was up to and I did, I said exactly what I had in mind but said to him that he pulled in sight right as she got in the car so we did not get a chance to speak business. I told him the truth and he responded with don't let me catch you out here again and let me go, he arrested the SW. Scared the he'll out of me for a week or two then I just got a little smarter in my scoops.
