From my viewpoint (client, customer, monger, etc) I'm gambling every time I contact a girl from backpage. Here, we've got LE induced fear, mixed with a low public opinion of sex workers and their clients, so everything stays hidden and meetings are setup under sketchy circumstances. The laws that we have concerning sex for money don't protect either side, contrarily they make everything more difficult all the way around.
It would be great if we could come up with a way to verify the good people in this "hobby", on both sides of the money. Until the laws get changed, and I don't hold my breath on that, everyone has to accept the risks that come with the gamble. Risk giving up some info to get some info, risk a little vulnerability to gain a little security. Bottom line if you can't trust somebody with a little personal information, don't fuck them. Meet for a drink, for a coffee, for lunch, for a quick chat, whatever. We'll both be more comfortable, and have a better time in bed for it. Meeting on the phone and going straight from there to the bedroom leads to way too much apprehension and anxiety to make things enjoyable. Face to face screenings are the best way.
