Man, I don't have to tell you guys how bad things are all over the Bronx and Harlem SW scene lately. When will we become a logical society? Who knows.

I could not agree with you more. The reason for this is simple: religion! There is a very strong parallel in societies between tolerance of extra-marital sex (including prostitution) and absence of religion. Great examples are Holland, Belgium, and Scandinavia. Unfortunately, we (USA) are the MOST pious country in all of Western world.

And to answer your last question, again, religion! Logic and belief in the supernatural are two mutually exclusive concepts.
