Had dinner w / a friend on the East side. After dinner, decided to take the trolling stroll through VB. Approx 10 pm. Just the opposite of last ride / not dead at all; completely alive.

I don't know whether to be proud or ashamed to admit that the incredible selection on VB during a winter visit in '96 was a deciding factor in my move to the valley in spring of '97. I remember an AZ Republic article in the early 2000s touting the effectiveness of whatever anti-prostitution program the county was running at the time. They stated that a late 90's trip out VB from 16th to 40th showed a count of 40+ potential working girls, compared to something like 7 after the program was implemented.
I can attest to the fact that 40 was probably not an unusual number, and many of them were dressed to kill. I can still remember sights like a tall blond in pink fishnets and black stiletto pumps, or a nice model-looking black girl in a red dress and red pumps.
