Except for dickshots, I don't use a built-in flash for the ladies as I use one or two external flashes. I switch cameras for the dickshots. But there has been a couple of times when I wished I had a built-in flash. But the D500 takes very good pictures in low light. According to Nikon, the D500 is a professional camera for sports and wildlife photographers who don't need a built-in flash. Nikon also claims that it makes the D500 weather proof. At least that's what they claim. The big brother D5 ($6,500.00 for body only) does not have one either.
