So now I going end my long ass rambling and ask you guys what you think? I almost 99% sure I going with the LG, mainly because I really like what I saw at Best buy. Not really impressed by Sony and the Samsung was only 120 hz, but was impressed by how good the picture was.

This is a 2013 model.
I hate Best Buy with a passion. If you are looking for a 4 k tv, go to Costco and Sams because you cannot beat their prices, warranty / extended warranty and return policy. I know I've seen LG at Sam's Club and Costco.

Then, I look to see what features it offers and doesn't offer over the other TVs within its class and price range. As far as the 240 hz refresh rate, it's not that critical because 240 hz vs 120 hz, you'll barely see any difference under most cases because it's mainly beneficial when there's fast moving images on the screen. An example of this is playing high frames per second video gaming on the TV. It helps smooth out the fast moving image where it's not choppy looking.
I read about that LG 65 LA9650 tv and it's a pretty good UHD TV. It's a 2013 model but, just because it's last years model, doesn't mean it's not good. The newer models are not always better than the older model. They may offer more features on the newer model but, the image quality maybe lacking compared to the previous model.

1. The TVs in the show room are set up wrong for home use. They are usually set up with super high brightness, contrast, color, etc. So you may want to ask them to adjust the settings to simulate something that you would be using at home.
2. Compare how they look for what type of viewing you will be doing most. For example, will it be mostly movies? Sports? Dark scenes? If possible, ask them to play a BRay disk of a movie you know very well. Generally something with dark scenes work well (I. E. Batman movies). Watch sports clips to see if there is any motion blur. Also, new TVs have a lot of pop, but some people don't like the way it looks since it no longer looks like real TV. So try watching a variety of programs on the sets before buying.
3. Check out forums. Especially the home theater ones.

4. Which ever one you get, try and do some calibration for your viewing environment. You can read some settings in the forums, or you can use a disk like Digital Essential or whatever else is new right now. When I got my set (over 5 years ago) I went through alot of breaking in, based on feedback online. I'm not sure if you need to do that, but read around to find out.
Also, look for Family and Friend sales for good deals. Sears used to have pretty good ones one Sunday a month. Not sure if that is still going on.

I think you're getting yourself too much into wanting to know all these tech jargon stuff when you shouldn't. IMO, I wouldn't get a UHDTV right now because there's very little video content available that displays 2160 p resolution. It will take several years until this becomes mainstream. You won't take full advantage of the 2160 p (3,840 x 2,160) resolution. Only the hardcore tech guys who need that high resolution tv for video content creation would need it. But, for the average user, 1080 p tv is plenty already.

Its to new of a technology, IMHO.

I almost exclusively own Samsung monitors and televisions and never had any issues. A tip with buying things like televisions. Certain credit cards extend the warranty and will repair or replace even if the manufacturer warranty is expired as long as you paid for it with the card. I know my American Express does this, so definitely if they break within a year you can get it replaced for free, just have to fill out a few forms and they typically refund the money. Visa Signature cards do this as well but their claim process is a PITA I've heard.

You're unlikely to find a tv that will be perfect in every area. One tv might be better in one area but then, another tv is better in another area. The best thing you can do is find one that's good enough for your needs at a price you don't mind paying.
