On the plus side, it's all legal. (You know that prostitution in Las Vegas is illegal, correct? It's highly unlikely you'll get caught, but just sayin'.) And you'll never catch an STD, because the girls are regularly tested and they do EVERYTHING covered. You won't have to worry about finding your wallet, cell phone, or laptop missing after your encounter. It's a sure thing-for the right amount of money, you'll score. They take credit cards!

The bad news:

The initial prices you will be quoted (they may give you a printed menu) are insane. The haggling starts at that point. Prices go up on the weekends, when major conventions are in town, etc. Porn stars and unusually attractive girls cost more, sometimes much more.

Even the closest brothels to Vegas are an hour or more away. So if you don't find anything you like, there you are, in the middle of nowhere.

Most importantly, I've not found the girls at the ranches to be anything special. I've done the brothel scene a couple of times, and found it to be not worth it. For the prices I've paid (and seen quoted on other forums) you can hire a well-reviewed independent provider in Vegas.

This is just my opinion. You can read gushing reviews of brothel girls on some of the forums. And, you may want to go to the infamous Chicken Ranch, just to say you've been, while you are on this side of the globe.

But consider this: you'll be in Las Vegas, one of the greatest centers for working girls there is. You can shop in all price ranges without leaving town. Why bother with the brothels?

The brothels were pretty disappointing to me when I visited them 20-25 years ago. I visited the ones just outside of Las Vegas and the ones up near Reno.

The ones outside of Las Vegas are at least an hour away. The ones that say they have a car they can send for free (I don't know if they still do that) aren't really free. The drivers expect at least a $50-US tip.

The girls weren't that pretty and the prices were very high. If you're used to paying 170-180 us$, you're going to feel like you're getting ripped off paying for it in a Nevada brothel. The girls know they are just providing a vagina for you to use and aren't really into giving you a lot of pleasure unless you pay them extra to improve your experience.

The experience is really just an expensive time consuming thing. So think about it, the price is the same as the pretty CG walking around in the casino and the round trip travel time is about 3 hours to the closest brothel. I used to rent a car and drive myself to the brothel back in the day because it was cheaper and you really can't get lost driving there, even at night.

If you chat up the CG and maybe buy her a drink or two before you go to your room, she will probably give you a better ride that you'll get at the brothel. It will probably cost you less and you'll have more fun.

So for a really good time with a CG in Las Vegas, figure on taking about 30-40 minutes to hook-up and about $200-$500 for a pretty one. Make sure you negotiate the length of time and the specific act(s) you want. The CGs will always want to charge extra for anything you don't specifically agree to before hand.

To me, the best experience is when you hook up with a civilian you meet while playing BJ or drinking in a club. I wouldn't say it's a mission to drive out to the brothels, it's actually a simple, rather scenic, ride. The ride home at night, driving through the dark, lonely desert on highway 160 might bother some people. Just take it slow and watch the road, with the exception of a few tight twists, it's a pretty straight shot.

Too bad this country doesn't have the same progressive attitude on prostitution as australia does. The fact that these brothels still operate here is kind of surprising. Poll after poll shows citizens of LV don't want it made legal in town, even though they could tax it up the ass. And downtown would be the perfect zone for it.

Random drunken sex, okay. Gambling away money, okay. Paying money for sex, bad.

Attitude doesn't really enter into it. If a cop can get arrest, he is probably going to take it. It's not about setting anybody straight or saving the world from the evil of pay for play. Hookers want to do as little and make as much as possible. Guys wanna do as much and pay as little as possible. Cops have numbers they need to reach and this is one way to reach them. Everybody plays a part.

They don't look for johns they way they look for a serial rapist, but politicians want numbers, so their bosses demand that some time and resources be spent arresting prostitues and customers. That's just how it goes.

Actually now most cops are hard and want to set you straight outside the casinos. But in certain casinos they often just let it happen.

I just got back from a short (TH. thru Sat.) trip to Vegas and it is more uptight than I ever remember. A girl told me she nows starts as early as 7 at the Excal and NYNY because security throws her out at 11.

On my first night I found a cg at NYNY casino bar at about 8 and another at NYNY by the Times Square bar at 11. Then I couldn't even see a cg for the rest of the night at Excal, NYNY, Lux MB, the Trop or Hooters although I probably went to the last 2 too early. The exception was the MGM in back by the slots near the registration area were there were about 10 either too ugly or expensive.
