If you need body work, Alejandro at Kali Kustoms does very good work at low cost. Negotiate directly with Alejandro, not the other workers like Frank who quotes higher prices and I am not sure of his workmanship. Make appointments with him, better on week days for big jobs. He also has guys who can repair leather seats cheap. Tell Alejandro you are a friend of El Capitan Solo. He will give you good deals with good work.

Finally popped my TJ cherry the weekend before last. Went down on Friday, got in around 9 PM and got a room at Cascadas. Took a shower and ventured into HK. I once went upstairs at Chicago and the girl was whispering to the hotel guy before I got close; he tells me the room will be $34! It's been a while since my last visit. It's a pain in the ass, with about a 3-4 hour drive plus 1+ hour crossing over time commitment. Plus the gas, parking, hotel fees. But you really can't beat the prices and quality here than in the US.
I finally got to try La Mansion. It was ok, but I guess good for TJ standards. I like Ticuan a lot better as it's seems less conspicuous and is nicer overall, but it's double the price. Just a heads up, their pricing is all outdated for their rooms and menu. I think this was a fairly new update with inflation hot, but luckily they didn't charge me 50% more when I checked out as I saw two girls there. I even tried their NY steak since people say their food is good but I have to say that it was worst than a Norms steak and it had interesting seasoning. I would recommend saving room and heading to Caesars instead.

(Side note: USD to MX peso is better when after you get in the border but just a 5% difference more or less as of 7/16/22). From the border, I then went to Playas De Tijuana via Uber ($10) to watch the sunrise at the beach but sadly it was foggy. I went around the area for a bit to explore. I went to ABC plus Tijuana Linea by the border right across EZ parking building to get my round trip ticket to Ensenada (MX 450 pesos). It is a 2 hour ride to Ensenada (ABC bus Ensenada Calle Sexta (6 a) station). I went down and walked for a bit and got an apple muffin at Bahia Bakery. From there I took a mini bus public transportation (MX 13 pesos) that would take me as far as possible past Costco, using my limited Spanish words. I got off when I did not know where the driver was going. I then called and uber ($10) to La Bufadora to watch the ocean view and marine geyser. Drank some pina colada and ate some oysters ($20 approx for both or MX 350 pesos) at Restaurant Blanquita overpriced but it is a tourist spot after all. One of the meseros that can speak English aggressively asks for tips LOL. Called an Uber back to Ensenada ($20 approx / I did not take the mini bus anymore because it is an hour back to Ensenada more or less just by car. I then went to a famous tostado place called La Guerrense, a food cart, that has been around since 1960. Anthony Bourdain and this food cart was featured together in a news article a while back. I recommend the "singapur" creamy crab tostada. (MX 130 for each tostada). I had some carnitas tacos at Carnitas Hermanos Ramirez (MX 56 or $3 for 2) that's what the cajera said. Then went back to ABC bus Calle Sexta (6 a) station then went back to Tijuana from there the fun begins.
I called an uber to HK then went around the streets to find see the sights. Nothing caught my attention. I decided to go into HK paid the $5 entrance with free beer. I had a backpack with me so I left it at the "customer service" which is where they give you beer as well and a $2 tip for storing the bag. I went around and was amazed. Beautiful women and everyone having a good time. Threw some singles at the pole dancers while scanning for a puta that catches my attention. After an hour of going around the place. That was quite a quick trip. You covered a lot of places in Baja within 24 hours from LA, especially taking the slow bus to Ensenada hehe. I am impressed.
In Ensenada, the bro should forget about Bufadero. It's just a small blowhole packed with people and cars, dusty and filthy, about 20 miles from downtown with terrible slow traffic. It's a big waste of time. You do get to see how muddy and dirty the beaches are South of the bay.
The best tourist spot is the malecon with seafood restaurants, bars, fish market, fishing fleet and a lively trinket market. It's a nice, clean, romantic spot to walk with your GFs and sample local lifestyle. Last time I was there before CoVid, a restaurant facing the fishing fleet advertised AYCE buffet with lobster for $10. Another had 10 fish tacos for $1. I hope they are still in business.
Main Blvd is nice, clean with lots of restaurants, seafood and tacos carts. Crowded carts sell huge raw oyster for 75 C, huge raw clam $2, all fresh and delish. A wingman and I used to stay in hotel Santa Tomas across from the defunct bar Anthony, buy sea food from the market, cook them on the balcony and party all day. At night we went to Bar Anthony and street girls and that dark street.
