What really killed her was alcoholism. That was her true illness, and this is pretty much the epitome of letting their illness get the best of them.

I met her once a few years ago, and when she let me in, the place reeked of booze. She offered me a drink, and within like 2 minutes she was already completely blacked out on the bed.
