If you have some charm and wit, it can go a long way. I've experienced crazy things in Vegas and some experiences that people would say are total BS, but they happened. But, like others have said, if you are heading there for the first time for a weekend, I wouldn't expect much! However, if you are there often, and stay up and out all night interacting with people, you never know what wild adventures await!
