I'm sure it's somewhere clear as daylight, but I'm relatively new to this site -- although I've been here since early spring. But still trying to figure a few things out.

First I meant no offense when asking some questions about the site and its structure. I didn't know the site existed until an escort pointed it out to me.

It's been very helpful in helping me figure out some things and helped contact others who are in this hobby. And for all of that I'm extremely grateful. And I'm always a very grateful guy.

I'm just a regular guy who is looking for something a little more from life and that's how I landed here.

I'm not a tech guru but just pointed out a few things about the site in general and certainly didn't mean to step on anybody's toes.

I've remained kind and professional on all of my posts. Even when asking newby questions. All of the members who have PMd me or responded have been tolerant and understood that I was learning my way around -- and still am.

I now have a better understanding of how the site operates, how to find information, how to contact others, etc. Although I understand that I'm considered a senior member by others I also admit I'm no expert at this.

I have learned my lesson about being critical of the site and will and have done better over time. However, I will not resort to name calling and insults.

I will reman professional in my interactions, adults in my comments and as in everything else, humble and very grateful.

I'm a consultant by trade and always look at things to "fix" them and sometimes that's always not a good thing.

Thought I'd start the new year (or end) on a sweet note with no fighring (won't last long). To me both have good smoked meats with decent size wings. Both resturants have good brisket and other smoked meats. Anyone have a favorite in 60 mile range of louisville?

Had been watching Diners, Dive-ins and Dives on tv and saw a place in Louisville -- Momma's Mustard Pickles and BBQ and went there. Was going to get something else and one of the waters said to get the Beef Ribs. So we ordered a rack of ribs to split. That and two sides with water to drink cost us over $70 and when we got the order we found out that in beef ribs -- there are only four ribs to a rack. So we each got two ribs and a small bowl of green beans and a glass of water for $70 plus. They may be famous for other things, but I'll never go back for the beef ribs.

Would love to hear about good BBQ joints. A guy from the Courier wrote a book about good BBQ joints and he had listed a couple around Louisville.

Got to go to his Number 1 place -- The Rendevous in Memphis back in the early 2000's. Very good dry rub ribs.

Staxx in Frankfort is pretty damn good. Smoked wings, ribs and brisket sans any sauce. Served on the side, which is what I prefer.
