The clientele for K bars are dying off. That's why the bars themselves are dying. The next generations are not into K bars like us old-timers. As a result, younger girls avoid the business, leaving the veterans to work the booths and they are getting old, no question about it.

Their customer base is shrinking (dying). Nothing new really, it has been going on for quite some time.

Better places to get sex, K bars are just about having company for the time you are there. Someone to talk to and someone to make you feel good. That's about it. How much money is that worth to you?[/QUOTE]Well said, in addition we don't eat or drink like we used to in the "old" days.

We don't eat like that either because lots of the bartenders these days don't cook. They'll serve you chips and peanuts, but in the old days, you'd get fresh poke, steak, sashimi. And food they make, not the kitchen mama. Some of you guys feast on the food in Kalihi, but I'm rarely out that side. The best food I ever had was at Splash from Ji-an. Nani, when she owned Hilltop, and it was even better when she bartended at Blue Sea. Those two ladies could cook! Their food was on par with some sit down restaurants. Jacqueline at Evergreen is a great cook too!

Another reason I think less and less bartenders cook is because of the Cheap Charlies. They drop $5 for their $3 beer and expect to get fed. A $2 tip for poke and steak? NO fuken way! Think what it would cost you at a restaurant and either drop that much in tip, or spend on bartender drinks. Some bartenders I know ignore those guys and let the barbacks take care of them. IMHO, if you just drink a beer, a $2 tip is fine. I've been told of some guys dropping $20, drink 5 or 6 beers AND take their change.

Ss.[/QUOTE]Checked the place out the other night. Met the bartender Michiko who was friendly and cute. Also met another bartender named Annie who was nice as well. Pretty sure the fox was the girl sitting at the end of the bar surrounded by several guys buying her drinks and singing. She looked cute and probably a fun personality but didn't quite get what all the fuss was about. I'm definitely not into sharing a girl I drink with with that many guys at the same time. Other girls here were really older and below average for Kalihi in my opinion. I will return again for another visit as it may have been an off night.

She was singing and dancing, and having fun with a group of men. That girl sure like to party with unlimited energy. She was rubbing her melons all over the guys.

Guess who bought her the stuffed cat? Haha.

[/QUOTE]Arrogance is a certainly a good description. $40 for a Heineken hostess beer and 10 minutes of a hostess's time is arrogant. How many guys earn $40 an hour? Or how many retirees can afford that? If I were to buy a couple of $40 drinks, I'd expect some good food to go along with it too but that certainly is not the deal. $80 would pay for a nice meal and beers at a sushi bar. The KBars and KBGs have lost sight of their actual value and have priced themselves out of what guys are willing to spend (like the younger ones) or guys able to afford (retirees on a fixed retirement income) for what you get. It's a good thing AMPs exist for play at a fixed cost with no games.

Now if the KBars did something innovative like making a $100 package that included 1 hour of a hostess's uninterrupted time with you (her drinks included) along with some decent food or pupus, then that might pull in more business.

The KBs don't seem to realize that they just don't know or have the mental capacity to operate a business because it's all about customer service which they don't seem to understand because rudeness prevails. Anyway, you no can suggest nothing; they know everything, so no sense: they on the phone, ignore customers, no training, playing machine, sitting and talking, talking, etc. No need KA, just provide basic, attentive service.

Talent going sunny-side down; transfer of liquor license and changes, if any, maybe in progress very soon, if not already done. That's what you get when you listen to 3-5 KBGs who no can read but like to talk (and know everything). "Knowing everything" seems to be the kiss of death.

And she has 2 nice sized papayas and nice long legs to wrap around and uses them to good effect, but like you, can't see what all the fuss is about. To me she has a rather plain face. L just don't get it. She has been around the block but I do give her credit being able to go from Kalihi to Kapiolani and back and forth, I hope her run at K-Style is a long one, since she has such a following, a rare thing these days.

Anyway have fun and good luck at k-style, watch out for the guys and gals in D-5 though they are out in force. These young ones don't give chance.

Been out of the KB scene for about 5 years now but I when I was a regular I always saw this really Hot Korean girl name eiwa (pronunounced iwa). Hottest Korean girl I ever seen with a body that rock the world. She had this big tattoo on her back that said "only god can judge me". She should be early 30's now but when I first saw her she was only 23. I kept in touch till around 6 years ago. She worked at a bar near the hmsa building. Does anyone know if she is around?
