Then comes voicemail and text from "dad" threatening to go to police. Didn't respond, blocked numbers, blocked profile. Has anyone else encountered this girl? Who knows if she's even a girl, or actually the age she says she is, but over and done. I didn't do anything illegal, but I definitely don't need drama in my life. I got one of these here in South Carolina too. I'm guessing just a scam. I simply told "dad" to fuck himself and blocked the number. Obvious a national scam. South Carolina is a 16 and up state but would never get mixed up with a 17 year old.
But my encounter was exactly as you stated. I'm guessing extortion was next in some form or fashion which is a joke really since I did nothing wrong as well. Still a little unnerving for a few seconds.

In other words, never continue talking when she says she's under 18. If she says she's 17 and sends you photos after that, you might technically have violated the law.
This scammer has a couple profiles where he is trying to run this scam, and he uses the same number for them (ends in 6848).
