If you are destined to get anything at IS it will most likley happen in the regular private dance booths. The other rooms are often visited by staff during your dances. Katie has been giving lip and hand service for many years. She is around 40yo, married, has gained a ton of weight, and her spacy dumb blond act has never capitaved my imagination. Ahhhhh Katarina, she brings back some awesome memories. Does anyone know if she still works there and if so does she have any regular days? You seem to have really strong opinions on a lot of these strip clubs. What clubs have you actually gone to and how many times? How old are you?

Went to check out Arnie's. I figured the people reporting that the doorman was mean or whatever were reading the whole thing wrong. But, no, the fat doorman eye-fucked me as I walked in. But, that was all the interaction I had with him. Pretty painless, IMHO. He can stare if he likes.

Everything about the Atlantis Gentlemen's Club in semi-rural Ford Heights belies the nature of its entertainment program. The inside is loaded with vases, cushy chairs, flatscreen TVs and pricey-looking light fixtures. From the outside, the strip club, a hulking mass of white stone standing alone at the end of a farm field, looks like a wayward federal courthouse.
"We wanted to make something comfortable," Mark, the club's part-owner, said.
"You pull up, you feel like you're special."
This place's coyness and luxury are not accidental, and its upscale attitude matches an industry trend, said Angelina, executive director of the Association of Club Executives, a strip-club trade group. Las Vegas-style establishments that attend to comfort and customer service are taking the place of smoky, ramshackle "chicken coop clubs," Spencer said.
"Those have really given way to emporiums of elegance," Spencer said.
For the traditionalists, the region remains home to conventional strip clubs. Gary city spokeswoman LaLosa said the city's strip club count hasn't changed recently, and zoning hems in other potential strip clubs. A few clubs do business in other Lake County municipalities. Porter County is strip club-free, thanks, at least in part, to zoning in the county and Valparaiso.
Nationally, strip clubs in major cities have been more insulated from the recession than their small-market counterparts, Spencer said. Clubs in manufacturing towns have suffered most, she said. She mentioned a club in Sandusky, Ohio, that closed with the two automotive manufacturers that flanked it. She said club owners nationwide have said their recent revenues are down from 20 percent to 60 percent.
But many clubs continue to thrive, said Spencer and other experts. Jeremy, an account executive for online strip-club marketing company Cybertech Internet, said club owners aren't getting out of the business.
"Right now, the price of a strip club is holding its market. It's a very lucrative market to own and operate a strip club," Stunt said.
Local strip club aficionado Mr. Goodtimes, who asked we use his Internet handle because he works in social services, pointed to Atlantis and clubs such as The Pink Monkey in Chicago's South Loop as proof the customer-service trend has come to Chicagoland.
"It's an overall experience instead of just coming in to just see strippers," he said.
Most local clubs have not followed this trend. Deja Vu in Lake Station appeared clean and safe on a recent Wednesday afternoon, but "elegant" would not be the appropriate adjective. The club is smoky and dark, though not unwelcoming, with low styrofoam tile ceilings. The place is, in short, a strip club. A manager, who asked not to be named because he doesn't own the club, said revenues are down from better economic times three years ago. But the club is persevering, he said.
"Sometimes it's bad, but sometimes it's up," he said.
Deja Vu added hot food briefly a few years ago. The food was good, but the experiment didn't make financial sense, so the food was discontinued, the manager said.
Even with the marble and ferns, Atlantis has not changed the business model: men pay for drinks and watch women dance naked.
But Valle said his club's Vegas-style "details" set it apart. Guiding a tour, Valle, a middle-aged journeyman strip club professional attached to an incessantly ringing cell phone, showed off the expansive kitchen; the dozens of semiprivate dance nooks; the DJ booth with equipment like an aircraft control tower's; the plush private party rooms; the urinals that stand beneath TVs tuned to ESPN. The food -- including steak and seafood -- is good, Valle said. People do buy the $1,100 magnums of Cristal champagne, he said.
"To compete with us, you're going to have to go a long way," Valle said.
You may recognize Maricar, Atlantis' director of marketing. She owns the face that looms over the Bishop Ford Expressway on Chicago's far South Side. Another billboard towers above the Dan Ryan Expressway around 61st Street. Perea works conventions and uses hotel concierges and limo drivers to try to bring men -- and, occasionally, women accompanied by men -- into the club. The club's Web site, atlantischicago.com, is less explicit than other stripping-related Web sites, and that wasn't an accident.
Atlantis has never been open during strong economic times, and Valle admitted people are spending less in strip clubs. But he said Atlantis is staying "above water."

These girls are straight with you; have not had the upsell either. The two drink minimum is only if you don't partake of the dancer's services. Definitely recommend this place even for white suburban guys. Met with Kiss yesterday, CBJ for. 6. She said no take out is available.

I am in the process of a business venture to open up a nice upscale gentlemen club in the western suburbs. What I am looking for from the members of this site is to get any ideal of some of the things you would like to see at a good club. This place would have a full bar on site so it will not be a BYOB location. We are also thinking about a Cigar room, where you can smoke and buy cigars. We have thoughts of a car service for the gentlemen who are in the downtown Chicago location. This way you would have reliable and professional transportation to and from the location. We are looking for some of your ideals to make this a successful place that you would want to visit when you come into town. Also a place you would want to tell friends about also.

I am stuck in Bradley for a week. I fly out Friday I only have one afternoon to make the best of chicago. Is Arnies any good? Is it easy to get too? Are they all fat or are there some lookers?
Most important things for a good strip club
#1 All of the dancers should be attractive. For me that means dancers are thin, in shape and tone. They should be wearing bikinis and g-strings at the most- not evening gowns. There should be many of them.
#2- Lap dances in the VIP Room should involve very good grindage and NOT be air dances. If I go to a club that only offers air dances- I NEVER go back. The lap dances should cost $5 to $10 per song- not more. If they charge more I won't go back. We are in a bad recession- even in a good economy I won't pay more- much less now.
#3- The club should be in a safe neighborhood.
Other things- no cover charge, going to the VIP Room should not cost extra $- just the 5 or 10 a song
-bouncers should treat customers with respect, obviously some patrons get out of hand but most of us don't. If the bouncers try to be hard asses and cop an attitude we'll take our $ elsewhere. One place I went to seats you at the very back of the friggin room unless you tip the bouncers- which was complete bs. I should be able to sit anywhere i want to.
-I prefer not being hasseled for dances constantly. If I want one I usually just go to the stage and tip them and let them know i want one.
-dancers should not get away with lying about dances in VIP Room.
-lighting should be good- I hate it when it's too dark and you can't see the women.
- I guess multi stage is better in case there is an unattractive dancer but if you hire properly that won't be an issue.
- No smoking laws in Illinois might make it hard for a cigar room- not sure. I hate smoke so no big loss for me.
Keep drink price and lap dances prices reasonable. Costing more does not make your club classy. Strip clubs are not classy. However, then can be clean, fun and the staff can be respectful. Get a bartender that knows what the hell he or she is doing. Get security who have some experience and know how to treat costumers. This costs more money, but it does pay off. Word of mouth is one of your best friends if the word is positive. Dress code- sure, but don't make it crazy, just have the staff use their discretion. T-shirt and jeans, fine, but it's gotta be clean. No gang stuff, etc. $10-20 for a lapdance, have a $3 beer and a way to get money off the cover charge, a VIP card, or a phone call ahead. However, I think that it is unrealistic although it sounds ideal. For instance, mentioning keeping gang bangers out of the club or at least gang attire won't fly because it is the gang bangers who throw the most money at strippers. Your average hard working joe won't throw around the benjamins like the crack dealers do. So if you are a club owner, do you want some average joes buying a random dance or two and drinking a couple of beers. Or do you want some thugs throwing around 1,000's of dollars making it rain while drinking MOET? If you want money, you'll prefer the latter.
The other thing is about dancers not haggling customers every minute for a dance. Yes, we all don't like that but it is proven that some weak willed man will end up in the back room emptying their pockets. So while it doesn't work on most, it is that 1 man who continually breaks down and gives all his money to the girl that keeps them haggling us.
I think gang bangers and annoying strippers are just part of the strip club experience in Chicago. I don't see that changing any time soon.

I don't see how anyone without experience in strip clubs, a team of lawyers, a mountian of cash, easy access to financing, and approval from the mob could even think of opening a club in a area that doesn't already have them. Such a person couldn't care less about what we would like to see in a club. Opening a club and reaping the financial and other rewards that would come with it seems like a great fantasy.

But the owners are opening something that caters to the customers. If we can't understand what the customer wants then we don't need to be open. You can have your thoughts about it. I just know that I won't be seeing you there.

But we are not thinking about opening any where in chicago. We are looking in the burbs where there is a less crime rate. We want are girls and our customers to be safe at all times. The man owner is a exstripper and knows what she wants and expects out the girls. There wont be no drug head girls or no budget girls. We are only allowing high quality in the women. With the gangs a dress code will be expected no matter if you have 5000 in your pocket you want to put out does not mean anything to us. But thank you for your advice we are really looking at what the gentleman are thinking about.
I've never been to a club when they had an amateur night going on so I was wondering to what extent real amateurs participate or is it typical that girls from other clubs or former strippers act as ringers. Probably difficult to prevent.
I would just rather see real amateurs on a such an occasion even if they aren't technically as good. That would be the whole point.

Broke down & stopped by tonight. Not as many girls walking around as last few times. Thought about a dance or two from a few girls, but nothing that sent my radar off the charts. Just my opinion, they all suck! (and not literally!) If I go to a SC I'll go to Industrial strip in Hammond since at least there I know I can grab, (forget doing that in any Chicago City strip club!) and on the weekends they have talent. Get a set (3 non-shortened songs) for 55$ with Delilah and you'll at least come close to nutting in your pants! As for the other strip clubs in chicagoland, if you just want to drink for cheap and see hot girls in mass quantities, go to HB (heavenly bodies), cheap beer, cheap dances, and never dead. Or check out Scores if you want something classy and want to see vegas style hot strippers. Sometimes they let you grab a tit or two as well. Other than that, the only places I've heard that give FS or any extra's are Club O in harvey or Arnie's also in Harvey. Good luck, and save your money and make a road trip to Detroit where the REAL strip club action occurs! You'll get the most BANG for your BUCK!

Came here after a disappointing trip to IS in Hammond. See the report in the Indiana section. On a Monday night, this place had 9 dancers and all of them over 7, one 9 and three 8s. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side but strong. There is some pressure to go to VIP. The bouncers can be annoying if you let them get to you. the club is nice and the music is good. Overall, good ambiance.
Started chatting with a 22 yr old cutie. Tried a $20 dance behind the main stage, which was lousy as the bouncer practically stood in front of us. It is clearly a way to discourage $20 dances. $30/song area is a bit more private. I made a deal for 4 songs for $100, full contact nude. Left home happy.
Nice club, but expensive and too far from downtown. Save your money for the escorts, if that is your cup of tea. Far more bang for the buck (pun intended)
