I have never been sucked in by these scamming sites, but they are almost ALWAYS "self renewing." That this one kicks in after only 24 hrs is yet another land mine!!!

Like... can you say too good to be true? Such a blatent web page clearly cannot deliver what it offers so explicitly or they would be in the clink.

It is an irony that the chances of getting acceptible service on the street is about the same as on line, or from the CityBeat adds, except that the street service cost is much less.

I have known street girls who have "graduated" to CL. (Me****a). The difference? Cost up, attitude down, satisfaction??? And obviously, the more explicit the CL post, the more likely the scam, and the sooner CL will pull the ad.

You may have heard that the city fathers are now devoting (as of tomorrow, 1 Feb) concerted scrutiny of the westend to "clean it up." Sounds like a WE verison of operation vortex which has hammered OTR streets in the past months. I am concerned because I know that at least some of the boardsters have been looking at WE as opposed to OTR.

A concern I and many others have had and expressed in the past, is the use by LE of postings on this board to focus their efforts... Again, although it diminishes the effectiveness of this board, I suggest specifics be limited to PMs until it becomes clear that board postings will not result in increased surveillance and hastling.

Anyone have access to police reports of prostitution busts? I think we should make use of THEIR reports to find out where the action may have moved to.

Took a little look-see at lunch today. Very heavy presence in OTR. I saw at least two separate county cruisers, three city cruisers and the city van. I also saw two vehicles pulled over in the time it took to do three circuits (two consecutive, then I ran over to get lunch, and did the third about 15 minutes later), which was enough for me. When I noticed one of the county boys giving me the eye, I thought that perhaps I was becoming too much of a fixture in the neighborhood.

I did see several friendly looking faces, but none that were familiar. Today was not the day, however, to get acquainted.

I know that the SW population drops in mid winter, but I have never seen it DISAPPEAR in past years the way it has since "Operation Vortex." Your report of several friendly faces is good news. The heavy presense of LE is not, however. Girls have told me that they concentrate in OTR on certain days, I think Tuesdays and Fridays (?). I wonder what happened to all our favorite girls.

I made the complete tour of OTR (see my previously posted map), and only saw two WSWs together with a black dude on the first go round. A brunette was jumping and flapping her arms around, definitely wired. No thanks. But the blonde seemed a possiblility. Nothing else. Including LE! Seems they were elsewhere today.

BUT, seeing as I'm an M.I.T. (Monger-in-Training), the most dangerous time in a boy's mongering career when he can recognize SWs but not LE (unless their windbreaker or car says POLICE), I had to ask myself "Do I feel lucky?. Well, do ya, punk?".

I decided I'd rather be good (read that safe) than lucky so this year's spring training will be watching the neighborhood for a while and exhibiting a little self control before taking anyone up on their come hither smiles. I'm sure I'll miss some fun times but better that than a visit with Leis' crowd.

Giani - thanks for the rule book. There are a couple others around on the forum but I thought yours, once I add the thingy about keeping my cell phone safe, is one of the better lists.

Several points:
The Shell station is one of the hottest of spots of all in OTR. VERY risky to pick up there as it is also a center for LE surveillance. Instead, try to pick a spot where you can catch her eye, then turn a corner out of sight and wait for her to come to you (do not keep foot on brake--the lit lights draw attention).

NEVER talk business until you have driven out of the area. Do not pick up anyone who does not get immediately in the car. "Do you need a ride?"

Thanks for the nod to my rules. Yes--As I mentioned previously, my cell phone was lifted while I got oral attention... I did not follow my rule number 1 of emptying all pockets except for what you are willing to pay for service.

Here they are again with a couple of updates:

Here are my 13 rules of "Mongering 101" none of the above problems would have occurred if I had followed them:

1) Only carry as much $$ as you are willing to lose... I always stash all valuables (my wallet, extra cash, cell phone, etc.) in a hidden spot.

2) Be VERY cautious if the "SW" on the street looks TOO good i.e., in Cincinnati, they DON'T dress in stilettos, leopard prints, or other obvious hooker outfits. It smells of a sting.

3) Do not call attention to yourself by making a show out of the stop (no U turns, no flagrant traffic moves). Catch her eye and pull around the corner onto the next side street and let her come to you. Alternatively, go smoothly around the block, having caught her eye.

4) When you pull up, be willing to drive away if your close up impression of her through the window is not good. (Sores, too thin, wired, dirty & stinky, sullen or "dead" eyes? SWs are NEVER as good as your first impression driving by...) Tell her you thought she was someone else.

5) Ask her if she needs a ride. She should say "Yes" and hop right into the car. Do NOT negotiate through the window. The monger's acid test is that LE stinging decoys will NOT get into the car. Please: if anyone knows differently, let us know. [SWs, in order to stay out of jail, may occasionally be forced to serve as decoys. They may get into the car. But if you refrain from discussion business until you are out of the neighborhood, and certain you are not being tailed, you should be OK.] If she insists on negotiating through the window, tell her you thought she was someone else, a friend, and split. Watch out for tailing LE.

6) Once she is in the car, get out of the neighborhood, and get a feel of her bare breasts to be SURE she isn't LE. She may grab your crotch to ensure that you aren't LE. Then get a crystal clear understanding of exactly what you want (covered or no, catch or no, swallow or no, etc) and for exactly how much (plus tip if satisfied). Extensive bargaining is a warning flag of a troublesome SW, and another reason to turn her out. And again, get out of the pick up neighborhood--I was once stopped by LE because he recognized the SW I had in the car.

7) Go to YOUR location unless given a good reason not to. HER location may include a male friend of hers who will rip you off. If she refuses your spot, you have another reason to turn her out. Be cautious of locations where you have no easy exit.

8) NEVER give up the $ before you are finished. You can pay a small token up front, but NEVER the whole amount. If she refuses, then thanks but no thanks. Once she has your money, it is problematic to turn her out. This includes fronting money so they can buy some "butter." Money in their hand may mean you will never get into their bush...

9) The use of drugs is can be a problem, but try to read what it might be. Crack leaves them still cogent, able to reason, may make them more enthusiastic and not totally out of it, in my experience. Heroin (dog food) addiction on the other hand leads to dangerous situations. Crack (in my experience) creates a dependancy, but not the kind of withdrawal that becomes an emergency for them. I have heard that crank can make them very horny--do not have direct experience. If they seem REALLY drugged up, another reason to turn them out. The difficult truth is that the vast majority of SWs do so to support some habit.

10) Do not let outside people get involved. No answering doors, no second girls, no nothing. You are asking for serious problems.

11) If confronted with a dangerous situation, do not get hostile or seriously argumentative. Tempers flair quickly, to what extent, you may not want to learn. GIVE IT UP. After all, you stashed your wallet, extra $$ and valuables elsewhere, right?

12) If you ARE ripped off, publicize the hell out of it on this board with as much descriptive detail as you can. Educate the rest of us about what mistakes you might not make again. Give a detailed description of the SW, her name, exactly where, when, how you connected.

13) Finally, try to get to know those SWs who ARE dependable. They can, and often are willing to advise you about dangerous, drugged out or HIV positive SWs. Remember however, even long-time dependable SWs should not have too much temptation placed in front of them--even they can "grab and run."

Stay safe--even if the thrill of the hunt is part of the deal.

Saw a nice looking redhead WSW hanging at a bus stop on Vine just above the construction at Clifton. Got what I thought was "the look and smile" so I did a quick run around the block but missed her to another ride (and it wasn't a Metrobus).

The temp was up today and the streets were crowded. The Elm/Henry area seems to be getting busier with a variety of BSW activity. There was a cute WSW with dark hair hanging on Race/Henry and a BSW waving traffic down on Race towards Liberty (I know...avoid the big attention getting shows). From a couple blocks away, I noticed a monger, obviously not a reader of this board, having an extened through the window convesation with a hot, thin BSW up on Elm. I cruised for about a half hour and saw several ladies, mostly bsw, but a few wsw. But, the selection looked like the bottom of the barrel. I saw one LE the entire time. I decided to wait until the selection picks up. It was rainy and that probably had something to do with it.

Took a chance on her 'cause I was feeling really horny. Yikes--what a mistake. She is petitie and fairly pretty, but she acts like she would rather be any place else but with you. She also has very strict rules about touching; ie no touching her and she upcharges to jack you off. It is hard to get off when she acts like she is sticking her hands in a puddle of vomit. She probably weighs 10-15 lbs more than she claims. I agree with an earlier review that she may be retarded. One of the few times I have been so put off that I couldn't jack myself off, much less enjoy someone else doing it. 200 roses wasted.

Would avoid unless you are very desperate and have way too much money.

Nice to see you guys still playing the game. I just wanted to drop by and say "Hello". I don't want to be accused of being anti-social, would I? You guys stay safe and keep giving out the valuable advice to the newbies who don't know better.

I'll be visiting Cincy next week so maybe I might be able to contribute something to the board then. But I have been out of the cruising scene for so long I'll need training wheels! If you see someone cruising OTR on a Schwinn with a banana seat and training wheels... that would be me. I'll cruise up to some WSW and tell her to get in the basket. Ha!

Last Saturday I'm driving up to OTR to meet with a regular at her place. I make a left turn on a green light, and pull to the right to parallel park. Since I wasn't actually cruising, just going to someone's apartment, I wasn't really my normal overly cautious self.

So as I begin to park, I notice two young ladies walking along the where I'm parking. It occurs to me that they may think I'm stopping for them, and I'll have to wave them off some how. At that moment, a city cruiser pulls up on my left and stops next to me.

Great. Just what I need, and I'm completely not doing anything.

I finish my parking, and roll down the window. They immediately start giving me a hard time through the window about having a tire on the curb (it's a low curb), and my left turn in front of oncoming traffic (which was silly because oncoming traffic wasn't even close when I turned). After wraping up the lecture, they backed up to get the plate (I guess), then drove off.

I meet my friend, and the rest of the evening is fine.

The moral of the story? Don't let your guard down for a second. Normally when I'm driving through the area, I'm completely aware of my surroundings: oncoming traffic, who's behind me, and who's on the side streets. Since I was just passing through, I let my guard down. Now I'm probably on some list.

Granted, the situation looked suspicious, and a white guy parking in north OTR after 5:00 probably looks out of place (maybe I should have complained about racial profiling).

Anyway, keep your guard up, and learn from my mistake.

"Old timer" is not ALL good--but I'll take it as a compliment. A few gray hairs...? Oh well.

On the another hand, OTR may not be how you remember it. The cruise routes are much the same, but "operation vortex" has had LE and county rent-a-cops saturating the place. But you know the rules, and can probably score without singeing your whiskers... LE has been less in evidence in the last month or so.

As usual, SWs with digits are a figment of one's imagination... at least for more than a week or two at a time. But the weather is beautiful at this time, and that always brings out the lovelies.

Look out for the banana seat! That is a dead give away.

Your story sounds depressingly familiar. By the same token... keep your tire off the curb!!!! In OTR, ANY excuse is good enough. I have friends who have been pulled over for no more an excuse than a white guy had a black girl in the car with him... Yes--you had committed no foul, but who cares...? Not LE. To all mongers. Extend all possible antennae when in OTR. If you DO pick up a lovely, do it extremely judiciously, and get the hell out of the area.

Thanks for the post. You reminded me of the need for diligence, and maybe other boardsters will avoid a worse situation from your experience!

Thanks for the info. I sucsessfully mongered here in Cinci. And it was a bit scary for an out of town white boy to be cruising down elm after dark.

The stroll in St louis does not have nearly the people out and about and you can almost bet any girl you see alone is working. Not here. There were hundreds of people all over, reminded me of the south side of Chicago down on Cicero. Not sure if I willl work up the courage to try again. Uncle Leo was way to visiable around every turn. But thanks for the post and all the info and if you every need info on St louis or any other place I may have traveled drop me a line.

GOT UP EARILY Saturday MORNING. To take some relatives to Findlay Market to see the New Place since they use to live here. From the time I got into W. E and OTR I saw young Part-timer that I had NOT seen since the warm weather in Nov. 06. Why Now. When I have got people with me and I can't say a "WORD"?

IT JUST NEVER FAILS. I saw a P/T in a Hot Pants outfit, and she saw me. She gave me EYE contact, but I did not return it like she knows I should, and all stopped at that point.

On the Market I saw near by several WSW, moving along that I know live in the area, and are worth the time, but I was NOT close enough to get their attention and see if they had digits for later.

The Market was a BUZZ, that earily in the morning, and everyone blended in with everyone.

I checked out the area Friday evening earily, and saw a few WSW. They just seem to lack real UnCommon Sense. Near the Fire Station is far too HOT, and on McM and Race is too, and there they were. Of course on the return pass, they all got picked ups, by the LE, and a few were bring cuffed as I drive by.

One even had my attention since traffic was backed up, and I pondered letting her in. But BEFORE I could motion she was looking away and traffic started to move. "DAMNNN"! She wasn't BAD at all. But she was a NEWbie because the Old Timers would have always kept an Eye on car directly near them. They know the OPPORTUNITY will often come very, very quick.

I saw a lot of potential WS's out on a Warm Sunny Day, but they have NOT learned to move from their regular spot to avoid capture, and create new Options. Even the regular part-timers were out, but they lost a little of their edge, over the Winter.

If these GIRLs ever learn NOT to use up their minutes Chit-Chatting about never to no one. They could turn that phone into a MONEY Maker, and almost never get caught. Someone with GooD DiGit, is a Gold Mine. LooK at how often you get PM'ed for Digits, and then when they do have them, they use them up within a few days, and are back out of business. Even the Friends numbers they will give you are off, or the friend is No Longer a friend because they got ripped out by NOT splitting the drugs or money/theft matters. IF THEY EVER LEARNED TO HAVE THERE OWN PERSON "CRAIGLIST" not online, by Word of Mouth. THEY WOULD NEVER NEED TO ADVERTISE a thing. ALL THERE CLIENTS WOULD COME "WORD of MOUTH". Before they sold Cell Phone off the backs of truck, if you know what I mean, most WS's had a number they could be reached at, almost like an emergency number.

I did come back through Saturday Night, and I can see the daytime, is the best time. It is just all the good spot you can use, need the cover of Darkness/Night. I know a few folks with Housetels, but since the Winter I have nOt used them. They run about 10/half. Hr. 40min. That is about all you need anyway. They better Housetels are out-of-the-area, but a lot of WS's won't venture far. I still, have the WINTER ladies, and have shared a few with decent digits. But, now that the Warmer Weather is here, I am LooKing for. "SOMETHING NEW or the BEST of the OLD"

Interesting to read your comparison with St Louis. [I too would be cautious in St L... I think you hit Cinci on a good night, good weather, low presence of LE. You didn't tell us the nature of your "successful mongering..." But yes, I have to say that Cinci can be very rewarding if you know how to a) avoid LE, and b) follow the rules to happy mongering...
