Even factoring in the difference in population doesn't account for the disproportionate number of cases and deaths in the US. For example, according to the US Census Bureau, the United States has a population of 329.9 million and South Korean has a population of 51.8 million. Let's round the numbers in favor of your argument and say the US has a population 330 million and South Korea has a population of 50 million, so the US has 6. 6 times as many people. According to Johns Hopkins' COVID-19 website, as of this post, the US has had 11,525,149 cases and 250,483 deaths while South Korea has had 29,654 cases and 498 deaths. This means that while the US has a population that's 6. 6 times greater, the US has had 46 times the number of cases and 503 times the number of deaths. No matter how you cut it, that's just crazy.

Most likely this CV will go into middle of 2021. Just my own personal thought.

Assuming Pfizer and Moderna get their TUAs by the end of 2020, the earliest we'll have wide-spread distribution of a vaccine is mid-2021 (remember, we have 200 million people to get vaccinated, and each requires two doses 15 days apart), and then it takes time for the herd immunity derived from the vaccine and the folks who were infected to take hold. My best guess is that it will be late 2021 or early 2022 before things start to get back to normal.

I would love to be wrong, but I think it's going to go well into 2021 if not through 2021. With general availability for vaccines not expected until spring / summer 2021, we're not going to have enough people vaccinated to matter until summer / fall at the earliest, but on top of that, we have enough people who don't want to wear masks, enough people who don't want to social distance, and enough people who are against vaccines for some reason, that it's going to be a rough uphill climb. Like I said though, I would love to be wrong about this, and hopefully people will start wearing masks and social distancing, reducing the number of deaths, hospitalisations, and cases going forward, and once the vaccine is available, everyone will get vaccinated. I'll cross my fingers, but I won't hold my breath.

Is there an age range requirement for who can get vaccinated? Many won't get it, human guinea pigs to the front of the line.

If they say wear a mask (which in most Asian countries is second nature cause of the avian flu a few years back), stay at home and quarantine, the people will wear a mask, stay home and quarantine cause they know the communist regime don't play.

I am not saying that the numbers are not inflated more than the 100 K you see on the internet, but I would put money its nowhere near the 10 M we have in the US.

The GOvt in China was effectively forcing people to stay at home through physical intimidation and force.

What about the other 131 million folks? Well many are infants, and there are no current plans to vaccinate infants. Probably 20 - 25% of the population (80 million) are anti-vaxers or will refuse the COVID vaccine because it was developed under / approved by the Trump Administration. That accounts for many of the 131 million.

If a positive test with no symptoms or affect is considered a case, which is how they are counting it, then on any given day each of us would also be considered a "case" of the many bacteria and viruses we are carrying but never make us sick. Just sayin".

The vaccine won't stop you from getting Covid19 we all are still going to get it eventually but the vaccine they will be giving to people is like an immune booster so when you do get it your immune system will recoginize it and kick into gear to fight off Covid19.
