I had referenced encountering Cheap Charles in prior posts and often wonder how they possess the audacity to behave as beggars and paupers in a retail business establishment; being real cheap is often the product of a sickness; emotionally disturbed. I ain't no big spender but pay my way (and more) so that I no owe anybody anything and can go anyplace without regrets.

Agree about the cheap Charlie's. They making it bad for all the rest of us. I always appreciate when the girls make / bring food, and yup, I have that old fashioned sense of obligation. And so always buy drinks and end up over tipping.

You guys beat me to it. Yes Blue Sea ladies have invaded Waterfall LOL. They on the prowl for sure. You've been warned so don't be scared now. Have fun.

I have my drink and then go, I always leave enough to cover what I had drunk and tip for the bartender. IF YOU YOUNG GUYS STILL FOLLOWING THOSE THAT PREACH EAT AND RUN THOSE DAYS ARE OVER. The Korean bars are in a sorry state and it's not getting better. If you not going leave tip, if no leave tip no go, drink at home you cheap asses are making it hard for the rest of us. . and you know who you are, the bartenders know too, why you have to ask the bar backs and even they get stiffed at times. This is an expensive hobby if you can't afford it drink at a local sports bar not a Korean Bar. The $ will go further and you can still get your buzz. You no more shame go to the bar and have to sponge off the bar backs and good nature of the bartenders. Shame on you guys especially the older ones that do this. You guys know better. The food costs are fixed and only go up I'd you go to a restaurant and have the same what would you pay? At least leave that much and no not talking about Yummies fast korean food. I mean places you go into and spend some money for food. For christ sake.

I like Ashley and wish her the best but this luke warm start does not bode well.

Kaina.[/QUOTE]Haven't been to a KB in a long long time. Was cajoled into going. It reminds me of international. The money at the bars isn't as free flowing as it was 10 years ago. It's good place for food and beer. I see a few familiar faces from other bars, but I don't remember their names. I hope this bar does well. The former tenants of this space haven't survived.

For christ sake.[/QUOTE]Even at Yummy's or Blazin Steaks try and order a steak / kalbi plate with shrimp and poke. Something like that will cost $20. At least leave what it costs at a drive in. The staff (kbgs, bartenders, wait staff) all have to tip the kitchen mama at the end of the night. If you order or are given stuff from the menu, not house pupus, cover those costs as someone has to pay for it.

Review of the above-referenced KB (and KBs in general) is lukewarm with not much potential. Pros: new mgmt so atmosphere still relatively a novelty; bartenders servicing the drinks, pupus, and entertaining the bar counter crowd; other veteran KB customers visiting; crowd is relaxed. Cons: bartender (s) go outside too much and set a choppy bar atmosphere; LVB show-offs; parking sucks; same dog, different fleas.

Since the pros outweigh the cons this KB might work but it is, as mentioned, a 'same dog with different fleas. ' Never cared for Splash; they got to take the Splash out of the Starlight and make their own, vibrant way (pun intended). KBs and KBGs are typical and predictable: everything is same-o. Waiting for the one to 'break the mold' but not going happen with their mentality. Not intended to be a personal attack; just imo.

Through the roof, even at the wholesale and distribution levels. Retail? Try go more vegetarian, they go raise the vegetable, fruits, and meatless prices; try go another way, they going track that and raise those prices, too. Let's face it, if you go out it's going to be expensive and perhaps hurtful. Stay home if that isn't appealing instead of trying to squeeze blood from a turnip (from others who make a living from gratuities) and create an unpleasant atmosphere wherever just because of a mental illness. This is my last post regarding this matter.

I'd understand if they were retired and living on a fixed income but the forementioned are the worst. Demanding this and that, no please or thank you'so and barely any tips, no neko's whatsoever. If I was any younger and stupider I'd jacked those frickas up. No class. Stay home for crying out loud. And for those that serve them give them a-holes dried peanuts with the shell on so they got to work for something. I was taught better and I ain't no pake or worse a Chang. Never was never will be.

The Jones Act.

Just go to any military commissary and check out the costs. Like a quart of milk is less than $5 while at Longs or Star runs about $8. Then of course you got that $10 billion Rail fiaciso with GET tax to support it along with an average $82 price hike on car registration.

Whatever happened to Sunny, who some years ago was at Kools, Canal and some other clubs in the Kalihi area?
