This reminded me of a time in the early 1990's when I was young and stupid around the Rush and Division area. When I was walking around between bars, I ran into these two cute black girls who came on to me. I was convinced that I would get a blowjob in the alley way from one of them, and we proceeded into the alley while the other stayed on the sidewalk to "watch out. After your done with the class, you have the thought in your head that you should almost have a lawyer with you at all times. Your correct, it's safer (legally) to go in unarmed. I have a small pea shooter (22) I used to carry in my front pocket, of which I stopped doing. Hopefully the guy is a bad shot and you can make it out safe. I had one incident where I left the hotel, when I tried to pull out, the pimp blocked my car in, I jumped out of the car with a 45 in my hand and suggested he move his car. Even if you have a CCL it is illegal to expose a gun to someone. It is considered a threat and I believe you could lose your CCL for it.

The most important thing one of my instructors, A lawyer, pounded into the classes head was, if you shoot someone you will be arrested. Having a CCL does not eliminate you from being arrested. Whether they decide to prosecute you or not will depend on several things. One of which could be, were you engaged in illegal activity. Hmmm, yes. So IMO you are better off not to carry when mongering.

Another important thing he pounded into the classes head was either get a separate insurance policy that protects you if you shoot someone or get a rider on your homeowners policy. They are available through the NRA if your current insurer does not offer this.

If you're truly threatened while mongering, do what's right folks. I have produced mine, lawfully. It worked out well for me. If you're unsure, don't carry and don't monger.

My only new thoughts here are that I ALWAYS, check and clear the room. No one is there except myself and the provider. If there's a friend openly in the bathroom and I know then they even have to go usually. Checking around the location has saved me headaches, and checking the room has kept me very safe. Once it's clear, chain the door. Be aware and be smart.

Second thought, pepper spray, good pepper spray, and learn how to use it correctly and what it's ramifications are legally. No permit needed, considerably easier to have and use.

First off, I'd like to thank whoever reached out to Layla to ask her if my report last week was true.
