I'm not a legal professional but what I do know is that consulting an attorney is not a suspicious activity and to be able to tie it to a specific concern would require knowledge of what was discussed with the attorney and that violates atty-client privilege. If someone feels the need to consult with a professional you shouldn't be discouraging them for vague and unrealistic reasons.

I kind of split the difference here.

Keeping a very low profile in shituations like this is just good common sense. Nails that stick up get hammered down.

On the other hand, LE has very limited resources and getting warrants for phone records and financial records and going through them for anything suspicious enough to help them takes time and money. So I would expect if they've gone to the point of getting a warrant they already have nearly enough to arrest you and are just crossing their t's and dotting their I's.

So naive. Your book learnin' is not how the criminal justice system works. What you "know" is nothing.

I ain't stopping anyone from anything. But people that know they provided PII should be aware that there may be eyes upon them.

As for warrants, not difficult at all to get when you bust a criminal enterprise with the magic word "trafficking" attached. When you hand the cops something on a platter, they take the win. And while it ain't quite like the cop shows, they have modern data analysis tools like the rest of the industry.

I’m not an attorney or LE, but I do consult for them on occasion in a particular industry and get to see things from the inside. It ain’t all “by the book”…

First file shows very well written story. LE enforcement collected excellent story with many facts and independent logs from multiple stories. LE was able to correlate texting with cameras to prove identity and fact of visiting.

LE arrested and interview clients while agency was still working. They spent some effort to prove that agency was in fact providing sex.

There are no news, no arrests in Bellevue, so maybe AP just shutdown activities here. LE needs to have time to collect such logs, like getting cameras information or installing them. They need to find evidence of paid sex and etc. If AP just closed their activities then LE can't collect such logs.

It might be a good time to think about threat model and risks associated with agencies. Maybe while you're visiting there are cameras and real time monitoring of your texting. Or you could be physically arrested while you're in the room.

Technically, they can destroy our lives even without logs, just making public our names. Good luck then in the current job market if your name is associated with human trafficking.

Probably, the safest way is to book escorts and invite them to the hotel room.
