I agree on the Caucasian (or, in this case, likely not) part of your argument. However, I can totally understand why they live in squalor. If they had their lives together they would likely not be in this lifestyle anyhow. Rare are the ones that choose this lifestyle (and they are understandably much coveted). In most cases, this lifestyle chooses them.
