I think they were one of the first set of VBs to start pushing this 40 dollar drink requirement to sit with the girls. Also if you notice who works there, its all the ROBs that have gathered in one place.

But the 40 dollar drink is not a new thing. It goes way back to Yokohama days. 20 dollars for a glass of water or 40 dollars for a beer and some (mean) action. Those were the days! Yokohamas, Bettys, New Office when it was by First Hawaiian bank.

Many like sandy's will charge $20 but only for the booths that are in front. If you want to go to the side/private booths then they will charge you $40. Btw, sky charges $20 for drinks. If they did ask for $40 then I would complain and they would lower it to $20.
As for $40 drinks being charged at kb's? Not right now and I don't see it in the near future. The economy makes it even harder now for them to make money, customers aren't spending that much money right now, they would be committing suicide to charge $40 for drinks. Just look at the private rooms, when they charged $200 for champagne the rooms at most bars were used, now that they charge $300 for champagne you don't see many people going to the room like before.

Was intrigued by Kal Hoku's post so decided to check out Sandy's myself. Got in early,after 7; total of 7 girls working and 5 guys.
