I decided not to pursue it, but since messages that old are not preserved, I can't say exactly why. I didn't get the impression that she was particularly high end, though.

I assume that if a profile says some country other than US the person is not in the US, because why would they misrepresent that? But if a profile indicates country location as US, does that mean that the person is in the US, or might they just be using a VPN on a US server from outside the country?

We messaged a little bit last month. Her pictures look good, her identity checked out and she seemed like she was open to something straightforward and easy. Then on Christmas Eve, she messaged me asking for money for presents for her kid. She added that she was homeless and didn't have transportation. Not exactly what I'm looking for in a SB. I sent a little money because, hey, it was Christmas. Since then, it's been nothing but more requests for money. Today she sent a picture of her sporting a black eye and asked for money for a hotel room. I asked what happened and she said it was a long, stupid story. I told her that I suspected some kind of substance issue, which she denied. Regardless, I blocked her on SA and other platforms.
