I've been attempting for the last week or so, to reach out and secure gigs with Independent Providers. I've been doing the FS with the local AMP providers (Heaven, SN, Lily's), but my gut tells me that setting something up with a woman who speaks decent English, maybe likes to party a bit, and is knowledgeable enough about her trade that I'll be "harder than a diamond in an ice storm."
My approach is bare minimum. I use the method they prefer (usually text, but I'll call if they specifically stress that). My comms take this form: "Hi. I'm *NAME*. I saw your ad at *SITE*. I'd like to set something up for *DATE / TIME*. Let me know if this works for you. Also, can you tell me your hourly rate?
That last sentence, I include, only if they don't list their hourly rate anywhere.
Either nobody returns my texts / calls. Or, they return the text 8 to 12 hours later. With a one word reply. I don't want to start "over-texting / calling" these women, as I feel that will yield even greater diminishing returns.
My question to you all is: Is this normal? I thought these women want gigs. If this is completely normal, and that I just have to be persistent, please let me know. Alternatively, if you have methods that work better, that you'd like to share. Please let me know.
