You say that she "flipped out on [you] for some reason," she's become "weird," and she's claiming you "did something that reminds her of something bad about her past but won't tell [you] what it is." Those are like flashing red warning lights. So if you pursue the return of your property, that could prompt her to falsely report to the authorities that you had illegally abused her in some way (physically and / or sexually). That could cause serious problems for you. So I would just consider this episode as a useful lesson learned about the risk of lending items of personal property.

Who knows where all your stuff may have gone and what happened to them by now. It's not a total loss for you because you got uki from her. When you asked her for the items back, how was her reaction and what did she tell you? It's not surprising that her suddenly getting all weird might be due to you asking for the items back. She may have interpreted it in a negative way that bothered her.

Don't be in a position where it will mess up your life for a few DVDs and stuff. Stuff can always be bought and replaced. Getting in trouble with the law or others stays with you forever.
If a girl asks to borrow something, I give it with the assumption that I an not getting it back. If you start with this in mind it's not much of an issue when she refuse to return it.

If she was obviously not the girl, he would whip out the printout and make reference to false advertising. I thought that was pretty slick.

She bs you to start with, what makes you think she's now going to be honest with you. My good friend does the same thing when he goes to Vegas. She shows them the photo that's not them, and then tells them to get lost. Even when it's a photo of her 50 pounds ago, it probably won't be good.

I'm not sure how sentimental and how expensive this stuff you are talking about are. Its either criminal or civil in the eyes of the law. If you have receipts and can prove its yours use the power of the law to get them back. If its not sentimental or worth a lit of money like everyone else said let it go. From experience you do not want any type of record or to be investigated. Being found not guilty is nice but dies not give you back the 10 or 20 years you suffered. Last week I was at Keeaumoku McDonald. 3 cops cars was parked at the parking lot and inside the restaurant they were taken down information from an old lady, did not know what had happened, my guess was she probably got robbed.
It makes me wonder the safety of going to AMP and bar near Keeaumoku area late at night and be a target of a crime.

If a police report is filed they might have follow up questioning by LE and sometimes need to go to the court to testify.

Besides that though, the reasoning behind not reporting to police about being robbed is because you don't want them investigating where you were right before being robbed, should never be accepted as if saying "well since I was at an AMP before I got robbed, I therefore deserve being robbed and anyone else who mongers. No one deserve being robbed.
