F Scott says it best. Everyone gets the sugar bowl he wants / sees. It can be what you describe. I know many people who don't play that way and have no interest in it.

I read that as it is customary to hold on to the delusions that the sugar bowl that we create is somehow different from the old days of discovering her from a name and number plastered on a restroom stall ("For a good time, call so and so" thus she's writing her own name on the wall with her SA profile). It's not my circus, not my monkeys, so I'm not inclined to opine the nuances that helps one deal with it, but anyone engaging in the sugar bowl is engaging in a part of the sex industry (the potential SBs ARE sex workers). Even if those dudes don't view themselves as playing the way A2 describes, it doesn't mean that they aren't playing that way (as you mentioned) to some degree.
