So let me get this right. It takes two local PD's and a Federal agency to arrest two women over the age of 49 for giving HJ's to men of similar age. Wow. Tax payers sure got bang for the buck on this one. Of course there is no other crime that would require this kind of attention, right? Sad. Very sad.
Opps sorry...just re-read the article. Five local departments were involved. This is such a waste. How about chasing real bad guys. Ohh this pisses me off. Ok I vented. I'm good now.
Meanwhile they do little to nothing about the heroin epidemic across New England. Good to see their priorities are straight.
There isn't much we can do to contain the heroin epidemic. It was unleashed by irresponsible capitalism prescribing opioids to unsuspecting people who woke up addicted. Short of forcing every addict into a long and expensive rehab there isn't much that can now be done to put this genie back in the bottle. Currently incarceration serves as a default rehab. However, our prisons have so many other problems that this sort of rehab is more likely to generate relapses than lasting solutions. This is why responsible governance is so important, and we see no signs of us as a society heading in that direction.

[blue]And I'm going to give it context.
This story isn't about guys looking for commercial sex, this story is about an FBI agent running a sting for pedophiles. Once this story broke I looked into the account. Care to guess what the guy did when his potential marks said "wait, you're talking about a 14 year old? That's fucking sick you disgusting fuck."
Yeah, he stopped answering them until he found the one that said "that's what I'm looking for."
So, unless somebody has a thing for 14 year old girls then you're just fine and if you are the kind of guy who's into fucking 14 year old girls I'm more than happy to cheer when they put the cuffs on you.
The forum has always been about adults and ONLY adults engaging in consensual commercial sex.

I honestly thought with backpage and Craigslist down, they'd be toning down the John's Suppression initiatives, but looks like this is pretty fresh. I hope no fellow members were snagged. With everyone Googling these days and #MeToo in full swing, this is a definite career limiter!
The article specifically says they won't mention the hotel, and I'm like, forget the hotel, there can't be that many, and it's pretty irrelevant (apart from protecting their reputation). It would be great to know where said ad's were placed? From recent 'where are you guys searching now' forum posts, didn't think the list was that long.
Also, from previous research into John's Suppression activity, I would highly advise folks have the number of a lawyer who represents these kind of cases saved in their phone. In one case, it seemed the difference to being able to escape without a mugshot or a recordable offence. Where to find one? Google is your friend!
And obviously hope that you don't get in that situation in the first place. Be patient, read the forum and use the community. It will greatly lessen the odds!
Safe hunting.

Not entirely sure from the article / further investigation whether this was a hotel, parlor or SW decoy sting? Also not clear what the mechanics of the sting were.
I imagine it was either of the last two given the motivation for the sting was resident complaints, but I might be wrong. I'm reasoning that residents / businesses would only complain about prostitution if it was in their face enough to cause offence. I can't claim to know the area well enough, but I'd imagine it's hard for residents (plural) to sniff out an independent working in a condo or apartment, especially given how short their stays typically are. I could imagine an apartment based or shopfront massage establishment if it was not clandestine enough drawing attention. I'm tempted to go with this option given the mention of business complaints, but would think SW's would be equally obvious, though they tend to operate at night when businesses are closed, so probably unlikely.
If it was the parlor option, I'd be curious to understand just how they set up their decoy. I doubt they'd go to the lengths of creating a false shopfront. Maybe they posted an ad posing as an apartment massage to lure the mongers? My underlying curiosity is to figure out if the right controls on the mongers' parts would have prevented the very public pain of this article turning up when someone googles your name.

In this case, the police sting was clearly targeting "johns" that were seeking a street walker. The article doesn't leave any doubt, as other have noted. They were picking up the guys after they presumably said too much to the police decoys.

Keep in mind for a street walker it is a $250 ticket. For the John it is a $1000 fine and you get your mug shot splattered in the paper. If found guilty in court you now have a record. Innocent or not you will never hear if you are innocent of the charges in the paper. You become a target.
All you have to do is do a search of arrests in your city / town of interest. The vast amount of arrests have the fact that a hotel / motel was used to set up LEO's operation. You are on camera from the time you enter to the time you leave and don't think for a minute that LEO and management don't work together.
We all know the LEO tells the truth. If you believe that you need your head examined. You need to always be wary that LEO is lurking neaar by.
I've NEVER heard of a sting arranged at a private residence. A bust targeting a specific provider, sure. Especially if there's other activity involved, such as the peddling of illicit substances.

Amnesty International clearly says Sex Worker rights are human rights.
New Hampshire accidentally legalized home based prostitution (unintended consequence of another law) and rapes dropped to zero, yet the US passes more draconian laws. People said "don't they know this will kill sex workers?" Yes, they know, they don't care.
