It had a huge marquis right below the Dreamway sign that said Show Of Shows. Towne Review was a block away at 14th & Cicero. She was attractive, older, very friendly, and lived with her elderly Mother. Never that close though. Then I was too young to understand soft core, where you offer to pay a utility bill as opposed to being blunt! And now I'd probably opt for the food.
This place is great for a quick stop. It's hit or miss with some of the girls but the hits are a great time. Worth the time.

To anyone who frequented One Step Beyond like I used to 10 or so years ago, I'm sure you'll agree that it was a hidden gem of a place.
I used to stop in there often and had some memorable times with some of the dancers there over the years. I used to love the dimly lit room especially when the upstairs was open, too.
I never found out why it closed permanently, though. I remember that the infamous madam Dawn Hansel used to be in charge and she got into some trouble so I'm thinking that was a reason why it closed?
I would love for a bar similar to OSB to open again. The bars on Mannheim and Lake St are ok but they just don't have the same atmosphere that OSB did.
