Well since Amanda got herself into trouble in Rock island county she will not appear in any Iowa court records as far as I know.

Recetly found a few throw away cameras while cleaning the garage. Got them developed and at the same time put on a CD NO more scanning. I have a digital camera now, so no more film. Got two of the rolls back the third has gone missing. Am posting pics from one of them of interest to you guys. There are some other pictures that are not of interest to this forumn. I have resized them so that you can see the whoile picture at once but not roated the ones that are vertical., Figure it was better than shrinking them more or making it so the while thing cant be seen at once. Turn your screen or head. Not wanting to spend a lot of time on all this.

I left in a number of reader comments to the story. I deleted a fair number that were had no bearing on the story, about former president Clinton and President Bush. Someone found an ad for a fag on CL looking for the same thing.

Police say she was a week away from becoming homeless.

On Tuesday, a posting on craigslist.com was titled, 'Soon to becoming (sic) homeless, will exchange sex for a place to stay - 57.'

The ad, which listed a photo and phone number, said the woman could please a male roommate in Davenport sexually and 'if I don't charge you money, it isn't prostitution said the police.'

However, the law says, 'A person who sells or offers for sale the person's services as a partner in a sex act, or who purchases or offers to purchase such services, commits an aggravated misdemeanor.'

Friday, Brenda G. Harris, 57, of 3574 Heatherton Dr., Davenport, appeared in Scott County District Court on a single count of prostitution. An affidavit in support of the charge says Ms. Harris was responsible for the ad and she admitted it was wrong.

Police were tipped off to the ad around 4:15 p.m. Thursday when someone called in a complaint of prostitution at Ms. Harris' apartment, the affidavit states.

Ms. Harris was released from the Scott County Jail after her court appearance this morning. An attorney is expected to appear for her on Monday.

This isn't the first case of Quad-Cities police becoming involved with the Craigslist Web site for sexual services.

In May, Bettendorf police arrested Amanda M. Hardy, 26, 3620 Pine Ridge Ct., Moline, and Roy , 38, of East Moline.

Both were arrested after an undercover police sergeant arranged a meeting with a woman after responding to an add on Craiglist for ``head specialist available,'' according to an affidavit filed in Scott County District Court.

The ad was discovered by a Bettendorf sergeant who occasionally monitors potential computer crimes.

Amanda and Roy were arrested at the Traveler Hotel in Bettendorf when police set up a sting.

Amanada was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and a year of probation after pleading guilty to prostitution in August. Roy is set to stand trial Sept. 24 on a single charge of pimping, a felony.

My business has a location in Davenport. When there were breakins going on, the Davenport police didn't seem all that well tooled to fight crime. Maybe they were off chasing old lady prostitues.

I guess I don't understand why the DPD couldn't have had a female officer go to her residence and let her know that what she is doing is a crime and to offer her the names and numbers of social organizations in case she goes homeless. Problem solved, ad taken down, a woman who is about to lose everything keeps some dignity, she finds a place to go AND the taxpayers save money.

It's going to be a trend more and more so, that places like Sugar's moves from the downtown streets to online arrangements. Sites similar to Craig's List that cater purely to sex are popping up by the dozens on a daily basis. There is no way the authorities will be able to police cyberspace when they can't keep the actual streets safe.

Sure prostitution is a crime, but I didn't see in this case that this woman was arrested on a street corner with a box cutter and crack cocaine in her purse. Lest we not forget that there is a large percentage of people who are only a couple of paychecks away from being in this womans place. My girlfriend should be glad that she is not on the Iowa side of the river. She lost her job last spring and moved in with me and a am pretty certain that I would not be supporting her if we were not having sex on a regular basis. I have also observed that there are some married guys who have similar arrangements with their wives.

She had the attention of two Aldermen, Meyers and Howard, Mayor Winborn, the City Manager Craig Malin. and the outgoing Police Chief. There wasn't any tipster, they had been monitoring her for weeks. All fun aside, she had a weapon and was telling people in her apt complex that she was going to use it on anyone that left after seeing her who didn't pay cause she was old and ugly. That was the real reason of concern on this lady. The weapon was secured after her arrest. The prostitution isn't a big deal, but a unstable and mentally challenged individual with a weapon is serious. She needed to be taken out. My Ninja MEG friend filled me in on this one. I guess it was pretty comical, see they busted her twice. Once a week ago then Thursday night again. Both times she came to the door and said "I am guilty". I might ask Meyer about it at Church next sunday. He loves to share. By the way, the paper screws stories up all the time, there are a bunch of facts not correct in thisarticle for example. Like this very minute she is sitting in jail, not released.

It could be that posters (and the evil lurkers who outnumber us 100 to 1) figure that if you have something to report you will report it. The tittle to your previous posting did say to stay tuned for a report.

Something I have notice on the QC CL postings is it is very easy to find the spam b the title. If it says "Quad Cities, Ia/il" in the title, it is spam. The spamnots just take the location from the title page. Real posters either just say Quad Cities (we all know what states they are in) or else the specific city they are in (Davenport, Milan, etc). This does not work for other areas since they will have the name of the city in the title bar (Peoria, Chicago etc).

I have a regular non-pro woman I see in a really small Illinois town when I am in the area. She is the kind of woman who would never say she has sex for money. This report's overdue, but I've had other priorities and am keeping a low profile (looks like a good choice considering). Anyway, on 9/10, I saw Rhonda and Jade (the young blonde on CL). I literally saw them both at the same time. A comedy of error on my part, as I double booked them. Rhonda go there first, got down to business, then Jade knocked on the door. It was awkward but sorta funny too. Rhonda was trying to pimp Jade.

Anway, Jade, not really worth a second visit. Can't recommend her, even though I gave her a glowing review before.
