I'll tell you what's better than cruising in a bar; cruising the AMPS, checking out ALL the girls, and doing the perfect one. You know as well as I do that, most of the time, the mamas will bring in all the girls if you ask. It may not be Rush Hour 2/fishbowl style, but they will bring the girls in one at a time, and I love that shit. You can hit all of the AMPs and walk until you find the right ONE.

The K/VBs are just more inventory. Some of the inventory is flawed though(some girls have no intention of playing), and that is a big problem when you are trying to exchange $ for "companionship". If you don't close the deal with these girls, you are just another sucka supporting her lifestyle. I don't care how much you two "clicked". Most times in a bar (a bar with quality inventory anyway) you will not complete the deal on your first sitting even if you are the money man of the night. Sometimes you might need to go 3-4 times before you get any, and even then you are probably not sure if you will.

You can get a lot closer to a girl figuratively and literally by being intimate and talking than just buying her tea for chit chat with no intimacy. Don't get me wrong, I think KBs can be a good place for extra inventory, but it's the girls with no intention of playing that get my goat. If I wanted that type of challenge, it's better to just go to a sports bar don't you think?

Don't get me wrong. I prefer AMPs. You're right about the floor show Mama can provide. But not all Mamas will do that. Some will only run two or three by you and say "That's all." Plus, going from AMP to AMP can get time consuming. I've done that plenty too. I don't doubt that ultimately you have better selection that way. But, it's not as fun as having a sexy asian chick all dolled up sitting on your dick with the g-string aside in the middle of a crowded bar. The girls in K/VBs are much prettier too.

Still an AMP guy though. Better "bang" for the buck.

Theres alot of complaining about the bars, but there are also alot of complaining about the amps. And the quality or girls at the amps aren't as great as before either.

So for me, even if I dont get the "memorable service" all the time at either, I still enjoy going to both amps and bars.

Was drinking at Club Flamingo in Kalihi and it seems that a new mama is going to take over starting today. I overheard some guys saying that the old mama from Azalea is taking over. So I'm guessing that there will be a change in girls at this bar in the next week or so. Hopefully the new mama keeps some of the younger girls. The girls that used to work at Azalea, now Vegas II, all have alot of mileage even though some used to give good service.

Thanks for your civilized explaination of why you go to bars as well as amp's. You are right in what you say. I've spent thousands of dollars in AMP's and certainly not all of it has yielded stellar results.

I think I understand now why at least you and probably many others go to bars.

What hunt are you talking about? Is it where you buy the girls drinks upon drinks, and as soon as your money is gone, they go with the baller with the Rolex? Or is it where you are balling, and she says, "I’ll be right back, that's my regular customer..."? Or is it when you spend your paycheck, pop the bubbly, and she freaks out that you want to nail her in the room, and tells you you'll do it when you go out? Any girl that will do you from the bars will do other customers no matter how special you think the bond is between the two of you, and no matter if she says she is only going to do you. It's a business for them, and you are the consumer just as in the AMPs. It's just that in the AMPs you don't get screwed out of your screw, and there aren't as many mind games. If it is truly the "hunt" you say you are interested in, why don't you go to a night club or sports bar, or even the mall or park where you are on somewhat equal footing with your prey? KBs and VBs are simulated hunts as the prey will go to the feeding hole to get shot just as the fish in the barrel as opposed to the wild game that will not. They have heard it all before, and they have said it all before.

Also, I don’t buy the KB girls are prettier argument as there are serious gems in that barrel. Also, how many of the really hot ones in the bars will let you do them in the booths? I am willing to venture a guess that it's not as many as the number of hot ones in the AMPs who give great service, but maybe that's just me. I am not trying to convince anyone as to the joys of AMPs as there will be less for me, but I feel strongly about AMPs (we have it much better than most states), and I get riled up when people knock them.

Dollar for dollar, almost everyone will say AMP's are better if sex is your only goal. Going to bars is about finding out who will play. The thrill of the hunt refers to the difference between going to an AMP, and being able to have sex with anyone you chose, versus going to a bar and not being able to.

I'm not accusing any of the members her of this stereotype, but here goes: I pass by the KB on Kapiolani all the time. Do you know who I typically see there? Old Japanese men from WWII who made a shitload of money on real estate, who are too old and too introverted to attract young women on their own. So, they have to resort to this rigged "game" for conversation and companionship because their wife is too old or passed away. Why should these girls give up anything for you when they can have unlimited amounts of these "suckers" who all they want are companionship?

Simply put, because of the observation above, KB are a total waste of time! (I'm gonna get flamed for sure, but go ahead, I'm speaking the truth) Sure, you can give me annecdoctal stories of how you hooked up with these KB girls, but these are isolated incidences!! For example, I could give you stories up and down about how me or someone I know hooked up at clubs/bars, too.

For new-comers who want to try to do the KB scene, my general advice to you is: DON'T DO IT!

Here is the computerish code to determine your course of action:

go the AMP;
else // you are seeking companionship and "thrill of the hunt"
if (you are decent-looking)
if (you are not too old)
hit the clubs;
else
hit the bars;

We who frequent the KB's all know we have a screw loose. Spending money for the hunt is really not good common sense, but I think most of us are tired of the straight slam, blam thank you mame, in the Amps. We have a fetish for sex in public (or the booths) . . . wish the KB's had a glass elevator, we like messing with the girls minds (Korean water torture), and we want to break the wild stallion that thinks she can never be mounted. It's a power trip and the Amps don't provide it. I know it's sick to spend money for possibly nothing, but it a temporary GFE without putting up with a real girlfriend.

Off this subject. Went to Casino. Anyone knows who the young, round cheek, very short skirt, gal is? I know she's been there for a while. She always wears very reveaaling outfits. Does she play? Sure looks like she does. Not Bebe or Miki.

Just to add my opinion. I think it is very difficult to get what you want at a Korean bar. There was only one time that I have gotten play for free at a Korean Bar without buying anyone a drink or going to the Karaoke Room. This was at Vegas II. But she was kind of old and ugly and I didn't want any piece of it even though I was pretty drunk at the time. Everyone has their own preferences, and for me it is just easier to go to an AMP. I think a lot of people here on this board gets tired of their wife or girlfriend at times and want something new but not permanent or time consuming. I'm sure a lot of people here have had two or more girlfriends at one time at some point in their lives. But for me since, I am not twentysomething anymore and have to work full time, it is a lot more convientent to go to an AMP. To sum it up, if sex were as easy at an Korean Bar as an AMP, then I would probably go to more Korean Bars.

When members vent and argue about the girls and the scene, I think it's just to get it out of their system. They know what they're up against, although I saw a few real loser customers who fall head over heals for a girl and always get burned. Do we really want a normal relationship in life? I bet not. The KB's give us a chance to have a false, sexual-type relationship without the responsibilty of a real girlfriend. Meeting the family, go to family outings, being trapped into one girl, is not what I want. We only want the fun part of a girlfriend and not the drama, henpeck side. Although with a Korean, drama is a given. There are actual times when I don't feel like banging, and don't wanna grab a brew with my friends because they can be irritating. I like to go to KBs, just to sit with a woman and chat. We put our arms around each other, fine. I buy her one or two drinks, she buys me my beer, fine. I go home.

OUCH, I have been burned a few times and have fallen for a couple of vbgs. I think mostly everyone,has one time or another been burned or fallen for one of these goldiggers. But no need to call us losers, I prefer dumbasses. JM

I really dont see why we are still comparing KBs with Amps. I mean, I enjoy both, but not for the same reasons. Sure I got burned at the KBs or VBs before, but I still enjoy playing with the girls in the booths. And not all girls will only hang with the rich, old japanese guys. For example the girl, Jae, mentioned below. She has a few old oriental men as customers. One of them actually falls asleep while sitting with her on occasion, thats how old he is. But I still had the opportunity to sit with her at a booth and got some play. I also did the karaoke room routine with her where she got really "friendly". Not as cost efficient as the Amps, but for me it did make my night.

So whats the big deal whether I monger at the KBs or Amps. I will monger at the place that I want to depending on what I want. If I want to play with some Korean chick, I go to the KBs. If I want to just bang a pretty girl I go to an Amp. Whats the big deal in that?

I'm sure you have heard of how J-Bars are more expensive on the average than KBs. I know typically one can spend anywhere between $200/per hour and $1000/per hour per person. Don't expect to get any play w/o spending some big bucks. Clothing is not an issue, but be prepared to spend money. Before you sit at the booths, you should have one drink at the bar and speak to the bartender (who is often the manager) and ask about charges. Unlike KBs, you don't have the option to pay by the round. Once you make how much you can spend clear, then you can decide whether to stay or not.

I was just there with some friends from Japan. First time there.

It was basically $100 per person for 90 minutes, this included all drinks for us and the gals that sat with us. The gals (and us) were doing tequila shots, and us guys had our customary beer chasers.

Not much action since everything is out in the open, unless you head for the karaoke rooms. Not sure how much that will cost you.

Some of the gals are attractive, around mid- to late-twenties. Most say they are from Japan, but they sure look local. I sat with a kinda cute petite gal (sorry, the name slips me) who was wearing a short, short, short skirt. No matter how much pulling down she did to cover up her thong, she was short in height so sitting deep into the couch would hike her skirt up. I eventually told her to stop pulling down on her skirt and just let us enjoy the view, and she obliged.

So how is Napa nowadays? I haven't been there in a long while.

Lots of the bar girls hang out at Cafe Blue on days off or when they don't feel like going to work. It's a regular bar/hang out place, but this time its packed with youngish Korean girls and guys.

I normally don't go to KB's and prefer AMP's or "shooting fish in a barrel" as another poster compared it to. Looked into London Hub because of the reports. Was drinking at D'Amour the other night. Overheard mama saying she was taking over Casino again. Casino will close on thursday 4/20. There will renovate Casino and break the wall down to the next door space and make a bigger space. D'Amour will close at end of month 4/30 and Casino mama will move there and remodel old D'amour and open approx. 2 weeks later. The girls will stay with their respective mamas. So Casino and D'Amour will be down for a while. Guess the other bars will be packed.
