Things seem fairly calm in Akron the past few weeks.

My good friend is really getting frustrated by a trend that, as he sees it, is getting worse. He keeps spotting women (on one primary street, in particular) that seem to be in need of a ride to their destination, but at the same time don't seem to [i]want[/i] a ride. Until a couple months ago, women like this seemed to want to get out of a dangerous area (especially at night) as quickly as possible, but now almost all of them seem content to just keep walking.

He's thought that many of them might be undercover, but they're not dressed in eye-catching ways and again, they make no overtures to get anyone's attention, i.e. bait them. Many look too paranoid or 'removed' to fit in this explanation. He also understands if they feel the need to be more discreet about their situation, but he's never seen so many 'damsels in distress' be so withdrawn.

Is anyone else experiencing what my friend is describing in Akron? Has the protocol for chivalry changed that much, or are there just more ladies out that just happen to [i]look[/i] like they need some assistance? Does he need to be more assertive? That would draw too much attention, I'd have to imagine.

P.S. My friend knew that RuPaul hasn't been a 'big name' since the '90s, but he didn't know that 'she' was out and about and living on Akron's east side!

I was in your fair city last week and cruized Arlington several times. There were several sw's out and about in a late afternoon but a sharp bsw caught my eye just north of Church's Chicken. Tracked her her for several blocks. Seemed to be talking to a few people on the street.

She probably was a stripper/part-time escort trying to get her normal rate while walking during a slow time. She won't get that on the street obviously but I do wonder why sometimes. I guess it's like any purchase though. If I buy pants at the mall I expect them to be $60, if I see the same pants at Kohl's I would expect to pay $30. If it's the same pants why arn't they still worth $60 at Kohl's?

Something else to consider, maybe it was her opening offer. If you pointed out that escorts get $150 for an hour and they provide the room maybe you could have gotten two shots for $100 plus 20 for the no-tell? I routinely go 80 (plus a room) for an hour and two nuts with the top of the line SW's. In a negotiation try to devalue what you're buying without being insulting. Of course you don't have to be so blunt but make her think this could be the start of regular action and she might come down from her high offer. Remember that they want the money and you have it so they will come around as long as it's not so low that it's insulting.

The third possibility is that she wanted the $$ upfront for a cash 'n dash. If she were LE she would have made the offer for 40 or 50 so I might have invited her in my warm, dry car for further discussion. Maybe you could have gotten that SW "10" for less than half her origional offer or two nuts for 100.

Suprisingly, I have come across a few, quite clean, SW's. It may be that they were rookies, not worn down yet, or maybe after payday they got a bath and bougth some new clothes, but it does happen.
