Somebody fixed it. It only took 18 hours, and it was fixed. Not bad depending on what the problem was. This isn't like Yahoo or Google, so < 48 hours is not bad.

Hello,
I just recently registered and have a question on how the topics are viewed. I hope bumping this old topic is permissible as I couldn't find the right section to post a new topic.
There is an option to view thread with the oldest post first or the newest post first. Due to other vBulletin style boards I visit, I'm used to the "oldest post first option". I see where I can change it to that in my User CP settings, but it's still on the newest post first option. Can anyone tell me how I can change it? Thank you for your help.

Will someone please tell me how to post a link from CL or backpage please.
I'm a little dumb when it comes to computers
I been trying to logout from this forum from the beginning of the month. I have send over 12 messages by using contact us method but no results.
Will you please please look into it.
I tried posting my first post late last night, but it's not showing up. Even tried doing a search. I heard there's a lag time, however it's been about 8-12hrs since the post. Could it be because my post was too long or maybe inappropriate?

Hi,
I appreciate your position.
First, please recognize the the purpose of monitoring reports it not to aggravate you but to keep the forum free of SPAM. It is specifically because I put in the work to monitor posts that The Forum is relatively SPAM free. I don't like all the work, but I know from experience that there's no other option.
Second, if I lowered the Senior Member requirements to 6 months OR 25 reports, I would have spammers specifically posting 25 posts within a few days to get the senior member status, and then start spamming the forum. That's what did happen ALL THE TIME a couple of years ago when I once had the either/or criteria.
Third, the Forum is a compendium of reports, not a chat room. I care about the reports, not the chit-chat. Therefor, I don't think it's really that big of a deal if, for example, a report is visible at 6pm or not until a few hours later?
Fourth, I take exception to your contention that "it's been about 8-12hrs since the post". I moderate and approve all new reports at least twice per day, and sometimes several times a day. The average delay is less than 6 hours. I know because I watch the statistics every day. The only time the delay is more than 12 hours is on those few days when I have some issue that prevents me from getting to a computer, such as a day when I may be flying between continents. Even then, I usually find an internet cafe at the airports so I can approve the pending reports before I get on my flight and again when I land.
Personally, I think you should be commending me for doing such a great job of managing the forum instead of complaining that I don't do it fast enough.
Thanks,
Jackson[/blue]
Just wanted to make you aware that the 'search all posts' links for other members is broken since gthe forum software has been upgraded. If you are already aware of this then ignore me. I like the new look and feel.
Thanks
All I get is forum entrys from 20005 or as late as 2009. Why arent I getting entrys from 10-10?
errror errorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
After much trial and error with considerable frustration here is the only way that I can get in.
Of note, I am running windows XP, Norton 360, Internet Explorer 8.1.6001.18702 and use Window washer that cleans up all cookies, history, etc upon exiting IE.
1. Go to www.usasexguide.info And sign in not using a password. Fill out the lost password form.
2. Go to email and use received link to get to "reset password form"
3. Close IE and let window washer cleanse all traces of visit.
4. Go back to email to retrieve temp password.
4. Go to www.usasexguide.info, drill down to a specific forum thread and sign in using temp password.
Now I am in with full priveledges. If I go and reset my password it doesn't get me in the next visit. I am stuck with the above procedure each and every time. Something isn't right and nothing on my computer has changed since before the "upgrade."
How do I get the search function to work?
I get the message "Sorry. No matches. Please try some different terms." even for obvious words I see in the thread. Even so, clicking on a "most-searched-for thread tags" is successful.
What's the secret?
I've been trying to change my user name for some time and all I get is a error message when I try. Could you help me out Jackson. A mistake was made on my part when I chose this name since it kind of personal.
Can anyone help me on this. Once I sign in wanting to post a report, I then get signed out. Does it have anything to do with my cookies. Thanks

There are instructions on the board for clearing cookies, but those instructions are outdated and don't tell you how to clear them in Windows Vista or Windows 7. The way I get in is to view the users that are logged in, click on any user to view his profile, system will ask me to signin and I do it there. Problem resolved. Any attempts to signin other ways do not work and system tells me I'm not signed in, just after signing in. This new software is cumbersome, but I understand no complaining is allowed since it's free.

It's called the 'remember me' checkbox. I had trouble logging in under this name, but had no problem after checking this box.
