What do men *really* want? Ask Playboy. Playboy has been making money marketing female images since before most everyone on this board was even born. Notice that Playboy does not feature overweight, middle-aged housewives in its pages. Playboy centerfolds are young and slender (the "college girl" ideal) , because that is what *most* men want.

Now, on the specific issue of the overweight providers.

Overweight and older providers are out there due to three primary reasons. The first one relates to supply, the second two to demand.

1.) A larger number of heavy women (no pun intended) are available to be providers. Women who enter the hobby usually have to forgo conventional relationships. (It is difficult for a provider to maintain a relationship with a boyfriend or husband.) Overweight women have fewer options in the civilian mating market. Therefore, more of them are "available" to work in the hobby. The vast majority of slender, attractive women are already spoken for, so fewer of them can participate in the hobby, even if they might be theoretically open to it.

3.) As discussed in my previous thread on this topic with Twack and the Professor, heavier women are often more "flexible", either in terms of the acts they are willing to perform, or the prices they are willing to charge. Look at the more elite escort agencies (like the "Emperor's Club", which Eliot Spencer used). You won't find heavy or 40-something providers at these agencies. Heavies and older providers are for BP and the SW scene, not the high end of the market.

So hobbyists don't patronize overweight providers because this is what they want, but rather because these are the providers who are the easiest to find, who seem the most attainable, and who can be had at the cheapest rates.

I suppose my objective was to provide some customer feedback to the "supply side" of the hobby. The hobby doesn't have market research firms and industry focus groups, after all. Agency owners like Buddha do read these forums. So do providers, and women who are thinking about entering the hobby as providers. Constructive feedback regarding "what hobbyists want" can serve a purpose. It can help the service providers make more money, and make hobbyists happier as a group.

I will admit that there *is* a market for women who are heavier / older. However, the BBW / 35+ category is a *niche* market. Ideally, this category of provider would comprise about 20% of the total. Right now they account for 60% to 80% This doesn't really serve the majority of hobbyists who prefer younger, thinner women; nor does it serve the heavier / older providers who try to operate in a market niche that is already overcrowded.

My original post was addressed to an agency owner (Buddha). And my feedback to him was essentially that there are already numerous choices for the men who prefer older and heavier providers. That end of the market is over-supplied. What we need are some more young, slender, upscale women, along the lines of Dawn, Silk, and Dixie.

For the reasons that I described in my previous post, older and heavier women will *always* be easier to find, whether you are an agency owner or a hobbyist. This means that their supply will always exceed their demand. (Note how much more frequently the BBWs post in the ads section. The young, slender women don't have to post as often, because the demand for them is *much* higher.)

And no, simply declaring that an overweight. 40-something provider is "hotter than the younger women on the board" does not make her so. There *are* conventional standards of beauty, which must be taken into account. Take me, for example: I'm in my mid-40s, I'm bald; and I could lose 15 pounds. I'm an average middle-aged man. I wouldn't try to make it as a Gigolo or a Chippendale's dancer. My time and energies can be much better applied elsewhere.

The same is true of women. I am not saying that every provider has to be a 21-year-old lingerie model. Clearly that expectation wouldn't be realistic. But there should be *some* standards. There should be *some* minimal threshold.
