According to article in today's SDUT, the Western pedestrian entrance to Mexico is due to open 7/31. Should be an easy walking shot to the Zona (maybe not at night, though).
It is closed 10 pm to 6 am. So if its open, its safe as it can be.
If anyone decides to do it, when you walk out of El Chapparal into Mexico there is a bridge due south of you. Go about 1/2 block east to the end of the bridge and then walk the 1/2 mile west. The west end of the bridge is Revelicion. Walk 1 block south and you're on Coahulia. I highly suggest staying on north side of street and walking west on Coahulia towards the next street, Constitucion. Boom! Zona awaits you. HK and AB are ahead, the alley is to your left. I do that bridge walk 2-5 times a week with zero issues.
Where is the new Northern bridge? Pedestrian? Quick route to Zona?
Its due south of new PedWest crossing. When you walk out look south and you will see it. Youll have to head east to get to the end of it and then follow my other post. Its about 5 minutes faster even if coming via PedEast. I like it. No rateros ever. Cops won't stop to fuck with you because now theyre blocking the bridge.
I crossed back over on 8/2 and it was not open. The only downside of Pedwest is that there is that there is not much street parking in that area.

Is it possible you were there after 10 pm and before 6 am? Southbound PedWest has limited hours, whereas no other crossing does.
I might do some recon on street parking this weekend but reviewing satellite imagery its slim pickings or a longer walk than off San Ysidro Blvd by LedEast.

I see the old pedestrian bridge, been there since the 1980's, that starts in the old Plaza. Only thing that shows up to the North, that ends near Revo, appears to be a roadway bridge for vehicles. Is that for pedestrians also?
I'm planning on taking a trip to Tijuana in the near future. I'm thinking of a daytime during the week trip. I have not been there in several years and have never been to Zona Norte. I do not speak Spanish. Is it safe? Should I try to find someone to go with me? Any tips on the ladies such as would you recommend street girls, escorts, clubs etc. Lost and in need of some advice. Thanks.

Lots of guys go solo. I started out going solo and kept on doing so. Never any problems. In fact, I prefer going solo since my clock may be wound a bit differently than some one else. I feel I can move around more freely solo.
I recommend going the BG route the first time. Particularly with no Spanish skills. For sure hit Hong Kong at least for the shows. You can probably get a better deal with a girl at one of the other popular gringo clubs (Adelitas, Tropical, Las Chevelas and maybe Chicago).
The escorts are safe and give good service (read this forum and International Sex Guide for the most reliable agencies) but, you'll miss a lot of fun associated with the Tijuana experience.
Anybody want to make a quick day trip to Tijuana with me? Thinking about heading down around 10 am and coming back around 3 or 4 pm.

I will be there in 2 weeks, during the week. I'm debating whether to hit HK at night or during the day. I've heard selection is better at night and weekends but that mileage is better during the day on weekdays.
Looking to make a trip across the border tomorrow. I've never been so looking for someone to go with. Tomorrow around midday and back in the evening or night. Let me know guys.
Thanks.
