Yep. That's the alley.
I walked that alley for an hour. Just hung out. I did not feel the least bit unsafe. Granted. The policia were in the alley for a while. I visited with a few SGs as well on that alley. Never once did I feel at risk. Feeling very naive!

If I want a really good fuck with a really good looking chica, I hang a right into the back entrance of Hong Kong. When I want a really good fuck with an attractive chica for cheap, I just pick one of the hundred out of the lineup.
The only time I have ever felt as risk was walking back to the border and missed a turn. About a half block off course I was in a deserted area. Turned around. Retraced my steps. Back with the crowds.
But what do I know?
When you are a gringo and walking alone, a shakedown is most inevitable to happen.
After a few taxi rides out of Zona, I would NEVER venture off of that one block (alley / Coahuila). Scary!
However, I have walked from la linea to Centro countless times. Twice, I am pretty certain I was about to get jumped. I have read here to always look behind you. Great advice. Not long after crossing the bridge and not long after sunset, two guys on the opposite side of the street were looking at me hard. When I was about a block away, I heard them whistle. Some guy a block ahead of me pops out. I turn around and the 2 guys are on my side of the street. I thought, here we go. So, I decided I was going to walk right at them, looking right at them. They kind of backed down. They walked past me and kept walking. I waited a couple minutes and walked back to centro. My heart took about an hour to calm down.
I say this only because there was one other similar incident. Again, the whistle and others arrive. God forbid someone whistles there anymore. It freaks me out.
But I think they are much braver when they are behind you and can get the jump on you. Both times, I was alone. I am a big guy but more fat than muscle. LOL But I think the moral for me. Do not appear to be an easy target.

People will whistle at you from the pharmacies, bars etc. "hey buddy" is my favorite one. If I know someone is trying to get my attention and it's not a Latina with dyed blonde hair and double D titties popping out of her shirt I ignore them all. Be aware of your surroundings but keep your head down and keep walking. Avoid all confrontations in Mexico. As an American you have no rights and if there is ever an altercation between you and a local and its your word against there's, your fucked. This philosophy has served me well the last 15 years. Moe.
Constitucion, Nino's Heros and Cohuilla st is fairly safe. The key is to constantly look behind you.
I.

No one around except me and those two guys. And the whistle draws someone else out while the 2 guys turn around and follow me? No doubt in my mind what was happening.
This wasn't a "come see, amigo" whistle. As I've said before, I've been too naive. It hasn't bit me but I know if I'm not more careful, my luck will run out.

I haven't walked down through there at night in a long time. From what I see from my taxi rides back to the border that's a pretty desolate area when it's dark out. I wouldn't take the chance. Moe.

Definitely worth the $5 at night. The funny thing. Outside of those two incidents, I see more Americans down on their luck in that area.
I do like Super Mario though. If you walk that way, stop and have a cerveza or margarita at the bar at the bridge. Great guy.

Stopped at super Mario's place some years back on my walk down to the zona. It was an extremely hot day and they had the 2 for 1 margarita special going on. Couple people playing pool. I left and have never been back. Nothing exciting. Moe.
Only times I have been robbed in mexico has been by the cops. In mexico there is no difference between the cops and robbers.
You're kidding right? I have had an attempted robber literally right next to an active police station. The busiest corners around the Tijuana bars have numerous snatch and grabs.
A) don't have anything at all valuable visible. This includes your 8 yr old iPhone3 G.
B) be very aware.
C) sometimes the robbers wear a uniform and work from their patrol cars.

So as it turns out I am a giant wimp and did not go through with it once I got a girl in the room. Started to get nervous about getting an STD. Only went as far as getting a lap dance on the bed when I still had boxers on.
I picked a thick blond girl with one side of braids on a Thursday night. Can Anybody vouch for her cleanliness? 50% sure it Never popped out for skin to skin contact but I'm nervous as hell. Advice?
So, I posted because my balls hurt a few days after the encounter. Turns out no STD but a bacterial infection or epididymitus according to my doctor. He said it was from bacteria in the ghonerea family or the water from a shower. 100% came from HK. I'd say be careful.
