Yeah, it kind of gives me a "We Are The World" feeling all over. Now that LE has cleaned it up, I think I might look into getting a mobile home rental on Jeff Davis. It's now a safe place to take the little ones to shop at HSO. :)

My understanding and belief is most SW couldn't give a crap about the services they swap what they do to get money for drugs. I'm willing to part with cash for their services. Why is it though that when it snows like it did a few weeks ago or it gets really cold like it is now that you can't find a sw when you need one? My itch needs scratched regardless of the weather and I'm sure theirs does too and I'd think they'd need a fix more than me. I can't believe these girls plan ahead - heck they can't keep minutes on their phones. So wtf are they in bad weather?

Yes, most of the walkers are on drugs. 90% crack and then herron. A rock or a brown bag goes for 10. Thats the deal. A 20 will get two rocks or a bag for today and one for tomorrow so they will not be dope sick after they wake up. Then they back at it again. In cold weather many go to local jail for a hot and a cot. 30 days time served usually for possession or solicitation. Many go in with daddies and most actually have a daddie. Hope this answers the question.

Some place where the ladies could go between tricks and mongers could go to negotiate nookie over a cold beer rather than rubber-necking up and down the streets. Years ago I stumbled on one - and six months later the place closed.

Even when I lived in Ohio, if there was moisture in the air, the streets were usually barren. The girls were way to obvious out in the snow or rain and so were the mongers. Both made easy targets for LE. Now once it stopped and the streets were more active, they'd return.
So though they, like you, may have a craving, they know the chance of finding a customer is pretty slim and of being arrested or otherwise harassed by LE pretty darn good. So they stay in and suffer shiver, but with dry feet.
You would think that would be preferred by our fine lads in blue over being in the streets? I read somewhere on here that some state in the North East is trying to legalize the hobby indoors. That would serve to get the girls off the streets? After all, what goes on behind closed doors really isn't anybody's business.

NCT, you may be thinking of Rhode Island. Back about 20 years ago, their state code was revised, and the wording of the prostitution laws was such that AMPs and escorts could operate without fear, but streetwalkers were subject to arrest. After years of complaints by all sorts of religious and human-trafficking groups, they fixed the wording in this past year's legislature session, and AMPs and indoor prostitution are again illegal in RI. There was even a documentary film produced about the whole thing - google "rhode island prostitution" and you should turn up hits.
It's interesting to me how the public discourse on this issue has morphed recently. Until a few years ago, womens rights groups generally were more or less pro-prostitution, based on the idea that whatever a woman wants to do with her body is her business. Today all those same groups have done a 180, because the religious and right-wing groups have been so successful in changing the terminology from "prostitution" (a victimless crime and a woman's right to choose) to "human trafficking" (a crime with a victim and not by her choice.) It's so pervasive that the terms have become interchangable in public and legal discourse - never mind that the large majority of sex workers are not acting on anything but their own choosing in doing what she does.

Took a stroll down JD about 9:30 PM tonight and, to my surprise, found an old reliable provider at one of the JD Motels. Many of you are familiar with Donna of Midlothian TRPK.
