D.C. Mongers,
As I write this I am hoping that Downtown is only closed temporarily. It would drive me mad knowing I missed experiencing the wonders of Downtown by only a few measly weeks.
D.C. mongers I'll be watching the forum intently over the next few weeks to see if Downtown reopens. Maybe you regulars to Downtown can do a little research into the reason(s) for the closing. I’m under no illusions about the difficulty accomplishing this task. The fluid nature of the business makes finding out these things comparable to nailing jell-o to the wall. None-the-less, I have faith that someone out there has a connection to this place beyond the client-provider relationship. I’m a control freak therefore I must know what happened to this beloved establishment.
I hope that because of the popularity of the Downtown location it can rise above the ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ fate relegated to most AMP’s after a post-LE scare.

Any recommendations on an AMP within a reasonable distance of the Westin Grand Hotel?
Full service is not required but a happy ending is.

Your hotel is located at M and 24th, which puts you within walking distance of at least a couple of full service AMPs, "Therapy @ M Street" at 1829 M Street, 3rd Floor (5 blocks away), and Supra on Connecticut Avenue (6-7 blocks away). Both places have received good reports here on WSG.
Other good AMPs that are a bit farther are Boss Spa (Eye Street between 17th and 18th) and Downtown (Vermont Avenue near 15th and L Street), or the CPHC next to the Cleveland Park stop on the Metro.
Your hotel is on the eastern edge of Georgetown (sort of). There is one good AMP in Georgetown, Young's, but it's pretty far up on Wisconsin Avenue, definitely not walking distance from your hotel.
All of the above AMPs are typically $60 for the house fee and $100 tip for FS.
A somewhat interesting non-AMP is the ICM Body Concepts at 1829 M Street on the 2nd floor (not the 3rd, that's the AMP listed above). This place features gorgeous college girls of all races (including a couple of hot Asians who actually speak good English), but seems to be HJ-only. Their quoted price ($120? more?) already includes a tip but is almost as expensive as FS at an AMP. They used to offer a discount on Sundays (not sure if that's still true).
All of these places as well as others advertise regularly in the Sports Section of the Washington Post (especially on Fridays). You should also try to pick up a copy of the free weekly "City Paper" which has some ads for AMPs and lots of listings for "Adult Services."
Your best bet is to go to a long post by WSG Senior Member LoveLOS on Jan. 2, 2004, about 20 pages behind this post. He lists each spa and gives info on what dates posts were made about each place. Easily the most comprehensive listing anywhere on the DC scene! An extra advantage to this list is that you can easily learn the names of the girls who've worked at these places during the past year, then say that name when you go to the AMP and they ask you if you've been there before.

Downtown will reopen soon. I talked to one of the girls that works there. It closed because of fear from LE. It looks like they visited another place but she would not tell me which place. She did the same a year ago at this time. Should be no problem it will reopen and Maya and some new girls will be working. Just wait till next week. Rockville, Md. (AP) - Montgomery County (website - news) police say an ongoing initiative involving illicit massage parlors has netted about 30 prostitution arrests. Police have also issued nearly three-dozen citations to operators without required licenses.
Authorities say the crackdown began more than two years ago - after the county passed an ordinance requiring massage businesses to follow a rigorous licensing process.
Authorities have said illegal massage parlors generally include those that stay open late and cater only to men. At one point, police believed about 20 massage parlors in the county were fronts for prostitution.
Captain John Fitzgerald says Montgomery County police don't know of any illicit parlors that still exist - but he says officials continue to monitor the problem.

the Montgomery County "crackdown" is sort of old news in that they pretty much maintain that status quo and their efforts have zero to do with DC efforts or interest in the same issue.
Montgomery County is very much a constituency driven policy that is a " not in my backyard" sort of thing. DC is different. It is more of a "tolerance" policy.
My posts will become less and less frequent, not because I am pissed and taking my little red wagon and going home to pout, but because of health issues which are starting to impact everyday life more and more. It's as simple as that.
Trust me, when I have something to say, I will say it as always.

Having read about Downtown being closed, I called the place ahead of time and the mamasan told me that they were open. So I drove down there and found the doors to be locked. I grabbed a cup of coffee and then tried again half a hour later but the doors were still locked. An hour later I called Downtown and mamasan again told me that the place was open. I told her that the doors were locked and she said oh it must be the people on the second floor locking the door but we are open. Go figure. If they are temporarily shut down they should tell people that they are remodeling or something. But perhaps if you called them with a cell phone it is possible that they would open up the door for you. I don't thnk. Boss is also closed with a sign saying they are remodeling. That's my update on Downtown. Is there any problems with Supra Spa or CHCP? I didn't want to waste my time driving over there.

Went searching early this morning 0300-0430 and was very displeased by the very slim pickings. Saw two potential tutors on the loop. One I had used before with the session being less then what I had planned. The other was just getting out of another classroom and I didn't feel like getting second hand. I know its all second hand but not that fresh.

In the absence of an open and functioning Downtown, I ref'ed LoveLOS' post of January 2nd for some intel and chose Supra based upon Scorpio Rising's enthusiastic recommendation.
The building could definitely use some work, and the 4th floor suite Supra occupies appears to be in an advanced state of decay. Bubbled paint from water infiltration at the top of the walls, ratty carpet, a mamasan who's face could send young children screaming for their mommies. No lineup was available, only one girl not with a customer, but mamasan promised she was young and pretty.
With these lowered expectations, I was VERY pleasantly surprised when Jessica opened the door.
