It is also very possible they could be susceptible to the sweet talking, somewhat younger gentleman who might offer the possibility of a normal relationship outside the bar. DEFINITELY no play in bar.

Koreans are a proud type of people and while I agree with you 100%, I don't know of any mamas who would agree. The idea of lowering their so called standards would never cross their minds while chasing the almighty dollar.

I remember while working on my BA at UH Manoa, the professor I was doing research for wanted me to show his graduate students how to run animal study research techniques. All his students already had a 4 year degree and either working or has a masters degree.

The first day went fine, but as soon as those Korean students found out I was a senior working on my BA, they started questioning my credentials and refused to listen even though I already published a scientific article as first author before anyone of them and have more than 1200 hours working in the lab. Like you say, it's all about "image" and kind of stupid in a way.

Be safe brothers.[/QUOTE]While I understand that they are proud, one would think that some 'forward thinking' mama would try something different instead of going about business the same old way and ending up taking monthly losses. Seriously, someone should try to convince a mama of a failing bar to implement some new policies and also consider the $10 drinks. Assuming she gets 3 of the ten, if sells twice as many of those drinks she's already ahead of the one drink at $20. And I'm sure she would more than double the sales of those drinks at $10. It's just very enticing to buy a girl a $10 drink in my opinion. If the bar is not doing well or failing, does it make sense for her to continue the same path because of pride? I think not, and it would be a very interesting experiment to say the least. As the saying goes, what does she have to lose? And there's a lot to gain- I think that's the bigger point. My 2 cents.

If a bar is struggling with losses due to lack of customers, one thing they could easily control is drink prices for girls. Someone should convince a mama to experiment and lower the price to $10. And I'm pretty sure guys would end up buying more than double the amount of drinks- there's something enticing about spending $10 for a girl's drink. Becuz she will take twice as long to finish and the guy still paid only $20. On the other hand, mama just made money she would not have had if the customer had not come into the bar in the first place (meaning the lower drink price persuaded him to visit her bar and not someone else's).

Service, or more bang for your buck must also be addressed to make kb's more successful than they currently are. But those elements will take time to change. The easiest one to control and can be experimented with right away to increase bar traffic is the drink prices. But you're right, in the long run keeping the guys happy is way more important.
