Koreans too Proud for Own's Good

I remember while working on my BA at UH Manoa, the professor I was doing research for wanted me to show his graduate students how to run animal study research techniques. All his students already had a 4 year degree and either working or has a masters degree.
The first day went fine, but as soon as those Korean students found out I was a senior working on my BA, they started questioning my credentials and refused to listen even though I already published a scientific article as first author before anyone of them and have more than 1200 hours working in the lab. Like you say, it's all about "image" and kind of stupid in a way.
