However, just like laws about littering, jaywalking, and stopping for pedestrians waiting to use crosswalks are often not enforced, frequently liquor commission rules aren't enforced. Why not? I'll leave answering that question to the bar experts on the forum. However, I would presume that some of the relevant factors might be corruption, laziness, incompetence, limited resources, and bar management / staff often knowing the identity of the inspectors. Perhaps self-preservation is also a factor: if too many bars were closed by vigorous enforcement of liquor commission rules, then there could be less employment for liquor commission employees.
Incidentally, there are even Hawaii laws making it illegal for a bar licensee or employee to knowingly permit "any person under the influence of liquor" to "be or remain in or on the licensed premises," and to "fail to timely prevent or suppress" any "immoral" conduct of "any person on the premises". Of course, there are numerous instances of those laws not being enforced, LOL.

.[/QUOTE]With regards to Redneck's reports. He is consistently correct and a wealth of information. One of the better contributors IMHO. Anyways, 100% enforcement would indeed close all of the KBs. And the LC knows it. Fortunately, they also know that enforcement of this ridiculous law goes against a long-time cultural acceptance of hostess bar activity. As long as the KB shows relative respect to the inspector, they usually let it slide. Shoots, even "regular" bars break these laws on a regular basis.
Here's a new fun rule they have to enforce. Now you can have 2 drinks of the same kind served to you. Before you could have 2 drinks but they had to be different e. G. A shot and a beer, but not 2 beers. Now you can (have two beers served to you), but no single container can be larger than 36 oz. So, if you have one beer in a container (pitcher) that is larger than 36 oz then no good, but, if you have two containers not exceeding 22 oz each, its ok. Go figure.

You will find the 90 day suspension decision regarding 4 Seasons in the highlights of Sept 11 hearing. What I don't know and would like to from a more knowledgeable brother; is what transpires after a judgement to the point of actual enforcement. Potential appeals? Must the business now be "served". ? Are there maneuvers the business can do, I. E. Transfer license, sell, etc. All of which result in the business never actually closing?

Never been to Leslie's Place. I hear its the land of $40 drinkees. Is that just after 2 am or all the time?

Becuz I wouldn't have characterized the talent there that way even a couple of weeks ago. Please clarify.

I'm pretty sure I've seen Sugi in the town bars before. It may have been for a short stint, but I know it was her. In Kalihi, she is one of the top tier girls. In town, she is mediocre, and closer to ajumma than young hottie. If she is to succeed in town, she'll have to play to keep customers happy. She would be good competition for Yujin at International. Now that would make a fun tag team duo.
