Great Location. Rooms are all good unless rooms face the Ave and the clubs that blast music till 4 am.
I always get the rooms in the middle of the hotel to avoid club noise, However my last 2 stays there were horrid. Not hotel's fault its the others guest. I partook in the Unicornio in thec70's before I discovered the zone. Live band at Unicornio. No DJ. The pisser was a wall with a linear type drain.

In '96 Adelitas was still kind of a locals bar during the day and during nighttime hours early in the week. I think that helped keep prices in line. Chicago was more gringofied and, of course had higher prices.
The only info resources I found back then were the old alt. Sex. Prostitution. Tijuana board and the Juans Tijuana and TJ Amigos sites. And, of course, the Brokington O'Tool chronicles. Word didn't get out that much I'm guessing because not everyone had on-line capabilities. Ahhh, the good old days.
