1) Health inspector makes a report in late October 2018 about Orchid Spa in Jupiter. Police are interested.

2) In November, they do some external surveillance at Orchid and pull over some mongers who willfully blab they nutted for money. That's how all this started. Confessions to questions that did not' need to be answered. You can't be traffic stoped, and arrested for not answering other questions about your day. Just say you have nothing to say and need to be on your way. After a few more tries, they will let you go, with or without a ticket, their choice, but likely will. They have many others to choose from when running that kind of thing, so they won't waste a lot of time questioning Monger Hardass.

3) Police got what they needed from the confessor mongers to get a warrant to do the pinhole camera in the ceiling trick (likely), or perhaps tap into the existing spa camera system. Either way, it is easy, as strip mall AMP's have a lot of crawls space above the ceiling. Stand alone AMP's would be more difficult, if not impossible because workers were living there. I'm pretty sure that if the cops pulled the "bomb threat" thing at a stand alone AMP, the workers would just never come back. They are not stupid.

4) Cops wait until January 2019 to do the fake bomb scare and do the camera trick. Thus far, they have no proof of anything other than what the mongers blabbed about back in November. They didn't allow sex trafficking to go on for months, because for them, it is so far, just a prostitution case, not a national emergency. The police likely didn't start before January because of the holidays. Cops have family and lives too, and cancelling leave time for what is so far is shaping up to be a standard prostitution bust, would be unpopular. Cops notify other jurisdictions of their project and see if those other agencies want to do similar. A few do, but only by sending in their own undercover cops to see if they are offered extra menus items. No mention of sex tapes at any AMP but Orchid. Those other undercover operations are included in the press release, but are unrelated to the Orchid ownership. The more agencies that did their own thing at the same time, the bigger the operation is perceived and looks. However, no customers got busted at the AMP's that used undercover cops to get evidence of which I'm aware. Just the workers.

They know the fear will be real because of this, and will do a lot to squelch the revenue streams of AMP's in general for a good bit. 6) Cops at Orchid find other AMP's that are part of the same Asian organized crime food chain as Orchid, in other jurisdictions and shut them down. No mention of any traffic stops, monger questioning, or sex tapes from those other AMP's either thus far.

For an ordinary person, they have your image, they have your vehicle info, your driver's license photo, and know where to find you. It's not impossible, but folks, it would take a lot of time to take them down because they too have a spidy sense, and if they've never seen you before, and you ask questions not normally asked by regular hobbyists and customers, they are going to give you the fat girl in denim shirt and jeans that just ate Kimchi, and can crack backs like she's on WWF. If not a cop, they may get a bad review, but hey, it's the occasional cost of doing business at a prepaid buffet.

Another thing about strip malls and modern office buildings is that in many cases unless the suite just happens to be at a fire stop wall the walls between the suites do not go all the way up to the roof deck. So LEO could easily access above the ceilings of the spa via another empty space or other cooperating tenant. Would still need a warrant but could be done without tipping off spa workers.

Can't tell you how many times I've walked into a place that smelled bad or just gave off that 'un-sanitary' vibe. For me, I usually don't return. Thanks for this article! Probably the best I've seen on the topic, including dates of the camera install and some of the methods LEO was using to identify people. LEO is absolutely crazy. All this BS over a HE! And involving spa staff who are clearly not trafficked.

And this article talks about the women being delivered to the spas by armed men in luxury cars, but as I read earlier, only 1 woman was confirmed a victim of trafficking. What is the true story here?

But yet your officers only focused on guys getting a HE and let the transnational, armed human traffickers go on about their business? I'm thinking this thing is about to come back on Uncle LEO. Judges don't like to be used as pawns. Two of the guys arrested can afford to hire a team of lawyers and enough PIs to follow all the cops involved and get video of every little thing they do wrong. Most PIs are former Uncles and know all the tactics and methods.

On another note, this story has gone coast to coast and this discussion is also taking place on USA boards in Las Vegas, San Diego and Phoenix (all boards on which I was active in February), and I bet every other board in the country. I have talked to a few SPs who say business has dropped off since the story. Guys are scared. I also talked to one SP that indicated she is now getting multiple calls a day from guys who are not verifiable (could be LE, who knows? I think a case like this emboldens the police. It might be a while until it settles down. Damnit!!
