What does suck is over the past year there been a TON of bad information pushed around. I dunno if it's cops fucking around here or just people being stupid.

Anyway here's the basic rules modified for Pig.

* this one should go without saying. Your goal should always be to not get arrested or cited*.

1.) never ever ever pick up a girl directly on Figueroa. Always use a side street.

2.) make sure your car is in good working order. Valid registration, all lights working and so forth. Basically don't give the cops yet another reason to pull you over.

3.) Alway have your license, registration, and insurance readily available. The cops will ask you for it if you get pulled over.

4.) if you do get pulled over, roll your window down, put your hands on the steering wheel, and shut the fuck up. You should comply with the cops directions but you don't have to talk to them about anything. If you have to say something, you can ask if you are detained. If the answer is yes, shut the fuck up. If the answer is no, ask if you are free to leave. That's it.

5.) if you get overly nervous or anxious, drive away. The girls will be out another day. Anything that makes you think less than clearly is a hinderance and a way to get caught.

6.) never ever park within two to three blocks from where you picked the girl up. Never park where she directs you to.

7.) don't break traffic laws. Again you don't want to give cops additional ways to pull you over. And for crissakes do not throw a you turn on fig.

8.) if you are in hg and see cops, or if you think they are paying attention to you, go somewhere else for a while. Go get some tacos or something. Or go south of Manchester. It's a different police station that patrols that part of Fig (Southeast vs 77th).

9.) don't go to fig after drinking.

The two loitering offences (penal code section 653.22 and the 647 collection) will no no longer be prosecuted. There is seemingly a typo - 647 (b)(1) is about being a john or being a prostitute and engage in sex for money. The heading state loitering, but 647 is the actual prostitution offence. 653.22 is the loitering offence. The latter, section 653.22 has been held to be constitutional, and it is what can get you in trouble if you are circling around the fig like you are looking for the ark of the covenant in the hottie gallery. That is clearly completely not a crime any more and the the will drop any charges for loitering. This means that you can cruise fig and Sepulveda until the rapture. If LEO is dumb enough to stop you, you can simply show them the special directive (I now carry a copy in my car) and beg them to arrest you for loitering. Hopefully other county DAs will do this as well. The 653.22 is a ridiculous law that basically allowed LE to almost call whatever they wanted loitering. The the's office in San Francisco called the loitering law flaky. Other cities & states have the loitering law. The difference is that they don't have the section C. The good thing is that is mainly the Vice cops that use this law in sting operations. This one reason why should never negotiate or discuss sex in any way outside your car. The only exceptions are if I have seen the girl working of have seen her get in other cars. Part of the problem is that so many girls want to negotiate through your window. If I don't know the girl then I will simply offer her a ride. Just remember there is case law that allows you to simply offer a girl a ride regardless if she is a working girl or not. (3) Has been convicted of violating this section, subdivision (a) or (b) of Section 647, or any other offense relating to or involving prostitution, within five years of the arrest under this section.

(4) Circles an area in a motor vehicle and repeatedly beckons to, contacts, or attempts to contact or stop pedestrians or other motorists, indicative of soliciting for prostitution.

(5) Has engaged, within six months prior to the arrest under this section, in any behavior described in this subdivision, with the exception of paragraph (3), or in any other behavior indicative of prostitution activity.
