Upstairs, the feeling only got worse. Even she could tell I was uneasy. She kept saying things like, "No need to worry, everything's okay. Just go sit on the couch. " That's when I noticed she was missing several teeth.

That was it for me.

I said, "Look, I don't feel right. I need to leave. ".

She walked me back downstairs, and as I stepped out the front door, a large man was approaching the house. She casually said, "Oh, that's just my friend. ".

I didn't make eye contact. I got in my car and got out of there—fast.

Looking back, I'm convinced that if I hadn't left when I did, things could have gone very badly.
