I too have been considering a withdrawal from the hobby, or at least from the SW scene. My 69th birthday probably had something to do with these thoughts. In any case, I hope things work out well for you.

I just wanted to take a moment and pass on some alarming information that has been passed along to me. As most of you know I do most of my communications via PM or actual contact via phone or face to face. I try and contribute important information on the open board but do not post abundance there as I am extremely diligent in keeping the confidences that have been passed along to me. I do try and steer everyone that contacts me in the right direction.
It has come to my attention from extremely reputable sources that there are providers and their handlers (Pimps, boyfriends, drug buddies) that are getting personal information from hobbyists and threatened to expose them to employers and family members. Guys, keep your personal and private information just that, personal and private. Don't give them credit cards, driver's license, home address or work information. If you are meeting them at a hotel put the room in their name with their information. I had one hobby friend say that 'Then they get to use the room I paid for free. ' Who gives a rat's ass if she makes money after you are gone and got yours? It is way better to keep your stuff private then her getting a copy of the bill with your name and address or credit card information on it slipped under the door the next morning long after you are gone.
Protect yourselves at all times. Don't worry about someone making over at the risk of you getting caught. Times are tough and some people are getting desperate. I would not post this if it was one isolated instance. I know of multiple (as in more than three) instances where basically a blackmail situation has occurred in the last month. Luckily I have not been hit but for those that have it has been extremely traumatic.
Get serious guys, protect yourselves at all cost. I have said this many times before stay with the tried and true local girls and stop tripping over yourselves to throw money at the next pretty face that pops up on Back page or e dot com. And yes one was on e dot com also so don't think it is only a Back page issue.

Some of the info that KG discusses was from a bad experience I had 6 weeks ago. He asked if he could use it and I said yes. Please be careful. I was amazed how good the two girls and their friend worked (via text messages) and how fast it happened and am still trying to repair the damage. Be careful and do protect your "personal information".

Very strong of you to step up Rog. You didn't have to. I think most here trust my information. But I commend you for your courage. Many are too embarrassed to put themselves out there for criticism when something bad happens. I understand that totally and hold no disrespect towards them as it is their choice but since this has happened many times in the last two months I felt it needed to get out there.
Rog is not the only one going through this. Trust me there are more and the scary part is that it was never the same provider. There are more out there doing this every week, not just one bad skank. They are going beyond being rip-off queens and venturing into extortion. Guys just are not posting it. So please protect yourself or it will come back to haunt you.

Jay you have to remember that these skanks have our friend's personal information. If they out them here and then find out about it then these girls can continue to make their lives hell.
I would never ask these guys to make a horrible situation worse just so that they could name names to make it easier for us. I totally understand everyone's need for safety and anonymity but naming names is not possible in this particular situation. If it was I would have posted it in every thread here.
Just be careful, stay with known well reviewed local girls or providers that are referred to you by trusted members here or where ever you have that connection.
But this is not the time or the place to name names. Jay, if one of these skanks had your personal information I. E. Home phone / address, work name / address, wife's name / home phone number and was threatening your personal life or livelihood would you be on here naming names? Would you want someone else to be naming names with your personal information at risk?
I don't think so. My message is 'Protect yourself and be smart and safe. ' This is a situation where we all need to be smart use all of the resources at our disposal, rely on our friends here and stay with the know providers. It just makes sense.

Folks I couldn't agree with KG, Chester, & Malibu more. I am not the expert or the most prolific poster but I am cautious. I would suggest a few tools of the trade.
1. Think twice about providing information (personal) to get approved to be with a provider.
2. Does your email address give out clues, use a monger email, like a monger wallet.
3. A designated phone for contact, no vm / name or a disposable.
4. Don't give out persal info, paying or negotiating for sex is a business transaction.
5. Loose lips sink ships use a nick name with providers.
6. Don't rent the room in your name, as listed by others previously.
7. Don't play at home, mail box etc, etc.
8. And condoms while I'm preaching. STD's do more damage than a phone call.
