Hong Kong report from a rookie
Tijuana had been on my (mongering) bucket list for a while, so when I was in San Diego for work and had a free afternoon, I decided to take the plunge. Not only was it my first time, but I was also going solo, so I want to thank all the other posters for their detailed reports which made it very easy for me. In return I will share as many details as I can for the benefit of my monger brethren.
I took the trolley to the border from downtown. It was a Thursday afternoon, and the trolley was pretty crowded. After getting off at San Ysidro, I followed the crowd (and the signs) to the Mexico border. There were two lines, one for Mexican citizens (which was very long), and one for foreigners (which luckily was pretty short). I saw a few people filling out forms, but I just handed the agent my passport card. He asked me where I was going as he was scanning it, I said "Tijuana", and was waved through. After that, you have to put any luggage or backpacks through an X-ray machine, but since I was not carrying anything I could just walk by, and I was in Mexico.
I followed the path from the border crossing into Tijuana, and as I was walking I noticed the limo for Hong Kong in a parking lot next to the path. So I decided to head there instead of jumping into a taxi, which is of course another easy option to get to wherever you're going. As soon as you step out into the street, if you make a right-hand you-turn and follow the street, you will see a parking lot on your left with a sign saying "Zona Shuttle", "Hong Kong Club Limo" etc. On the walls. At the back of the the parking lot is the little shack from where the shuttle departs. You can also get there from the main street instead of the parking lot. When I stepped inside, the guy asked me if I was going to Hong Kong. There were a couple of other American dudes waiting inside. As we waited for the shuttle, I noticed the long line for entering the US right outside. Eventually it was about 10 guys in the shuttle and it took about 10 minutes to get to Hong Kong.
That afternoon, there was a very high ratio of girls to mongers. I sat down at a table and ordered a beer, and was immediately approached by multiple girls. I wanted to explore the place, so I politely waved them away, and started walking around to check out the place. It seems like each area of the club has a slightly different vibe, and you can pick where you are most comfortable. You can find spots which are a bit quieter than the main stage area, but you will still be constantly approached by the meseros (waiters) and the girls.
The first girl I talked to was a plain Jane, girl-next-door types. She spoke very little English and I, very little Spanish, so we mostly communicated via the translate app. As she was having her drink and I was feeling her up, she asked me what I was in the mood for. I told her I wanted to go upstairs with her, and she started typing 120. I looked at her like she was crazy, and she immediately said, sorry, I meant 100. Anyway, we went up and it was a good time with DFK, DATY, and CFS. I was not interested in BB, so I didn't ask.
Back down, I wandered around checking out the place as I recharged. I got the sense that Hong Kong is designed to make money at all times, so you will always be asked by the meseros if you want a drink, if you want them to bring you a girl, etc. If you're sitting with a girl, they will be constantly asking you and the girl for drink orders.
A second girl I talked to was dressed as a cheerleader. She said it was her first week at HK, and I found it believable. She quoted 120 and I offered 100, but she would not budge. Ultimately I said no thanks, and she left. I saw her standing around the whole time without talking to anyone else, so I suppose she was holding the line on her price.
After a few more drinks, I was joined by a very pretty girl with a slim waist and nice boobs (which turned out to be fake). She spoke a fair bit of English so it was nice to chat with her. She also quoted 120 and I kept offering 100, which went on for a while. I knew I wanted to head out soon, so we settled on 110 with 10 propina (tip) for excellent service. It turned out to be a great experience, even though I found it difficult to perform again within a short time (I'm not that young anymore hehe). Anyway, she was pretty game about the whole thing and is someone I will lookout for next time.
After it was done, I stepped out and ask the employees outside for the shuttle to the border. After a few minutes wait, a shuttle showed up and dropped me and other guys back to Ped East. Again, there was a huge line all the way up to the shuttle stop. Fortunately, I have Global Entry, so I followed the signs for Sentri, and was able to skip the line and go all the way to the front. If not for GE, it would have been an hour-long wait or more.
Overall, it was a great first time. I would say, HK is a great club if you want to pack in as much action as you can within a short amount of time. Maybe I just picked a day where there were too many girls compared to mongers. It is not like many US clubs where you can get a drink and chill out without being disturbed. Also, I never felt unsafe. It was day time, and there were families with kids, teenagers, etc. Around the border. Also, I grew up in Asia, so a bit of poverty, chaos, and things not being exactly spic and span don't bother me as much.
Stay safe and have fun!

Passport card and GE card
I personally go with my passport card to get into Mexico cause they might give you a hard time if you don't have it. Basically will have to bribe them probably from what I here. The FMM is separate no? You have to have that regardless of entry, cause I had my passport card and they still demanded one. You can print out a free one that last 7 days or buy the 25-35 dollar one that 6 months. I use my GE to get into America because you literally cut the entire line. Traveling to Mexico I recommend a Passport card (easy to keep in a wallet) GE because I say no to the line and the free FMM.
If you're walking south you need a passport or passport card. If you don't have you'll likely pay the FMM fee.
If you're driving you most likely won't be stopped.
Entering USA you only need GE card.
