Two of OGD's finest show up on the guest list of the county b&b.
I won't get into details, but let's just say that the older guys should keep their eyes on their credit cards.
Classy.

There used to be two clubs in Akron in close proximity to each other. One was a complete hole and sat right on the corner. Inside was worn out disgusting like Lustys. Outside was painted white and a high roof. Mostly AA dancers and crowd.
The other bar was just up and across the street. It was a bowling alley bar. Two seats just to the right at the end of the bar as you walked in then a long wood bar down the right side with maybe 20 stools. An elevetated stage was on the left with a couple of tables. The bathrooms were memorable, down stairs and down a hallway to the left. This was a pretty nice place.
Anybody remember the names of these two bars and which street they were on?
Flashdance Cabaret & Lisa's Cabaret on Market Street??
Not those either. Lisa's was over by the porn theatre and Flashdance is a couple miles away. The two I'm talking about were within a 1000' feet of each other.
I'm thinking they may have been in North Hill by C Falls Ave. They were the first places I went to in Akron, except for Lisas and Flashdance. I really didn't know my way around back then.

Speaking of first places. Mine was 40 years ago! It was a place called DenRick's on the corner of Darrow and Newton in Akron. I was a kid who couldn't handle his 3. 2 beer, and got my ass kicked by a dancer while the old guys I worked with laughed hysterically.
I used to love that bar!
Backstreet and Dreamers corrupted me at the young age of 21. I'm sorry I did a hit and run on my last post and forgot to spell check. Ron's Crossroads was on the corner of N. Main and C-falls ave. The bar down and across the street was a small rectangular shaped strip club with the runway in the middle. I didn't frequent that bar to much due to the bikers.
Was one of them called Ron's Crossroads? Corner of and. Main caddy corner to the bank? It was a combo strip club and concert venue.
That's it! It was a combo concert venue. Did it go by the name Zanzibar at the end? I rember it changing ownership towards the end and becoming a primarily AA club.
I was banging a stripper there that had a parrot tattoo on her arm but for the life of me can't remember here name!
I remember that parrot tatoo. Suzie?
Touch of Class was along there.
3. 2 beer.
YES! Touch of Class. There was an escort service in CLE by the same name back then. 3.2 beer LOL.
Ron's Crossroads was on the corner of N. Main and C-falls ave. The bar down and across the street was a small rectangular shaped strip club with the runway in the middle. The couple times I was there were weekend afternoons and my impression was it was a nice place. A local Irish pub type bar but inject bikers after dark and any place changes.
I was already well into the hobby by the time I happened across these clubs. Amazing they were in that area. It's funny how our lives have certain nexus points. I got involved in a situation one street over from the corner of Main and Tallmadge 10+ years later. Fell hard for a girl there and never put together I had been in that area before. Another in a looooong list of coincidences between she and I. Unfortunately her life circumstances ended in an OD a couple years ago.
So the big question is how long ago did these places close? They shut down at roughly the same time.

Anybody remember the names of these two bars and which street they were on?
This is probably the same time you're talking about. I remember because I'd go to Kent and stop in Akron, before heading S. The Hustler Club sat on the Main Street up from Cascade Plaza. I think there was another bar there also. You would walk in, bar to the right with dance floor down the center of the bar. Those were the days!! You'd go in sit down and have a beer. Watch the dancers to get turned on. Freelancers would come up to you all night long. I don't just mean two or three. There were girls of all races, ages, and body types. I've never seen anything like that to this day. I would say on any given night there would be ten plus girls. Prices? $15 to $30 . Oh and no BS like now.

When I had a newer car I'd skip the little parking garage because I figured some drunk would hit my car. LOL Fun times there and good dances with takeout available. Remember when they were staying open late? They would come and pull the beer off the table at 2:30 but stay open for dances. Weren't they serving breakfast around that time? Damn that must be 25-30 years ago.
Damn that must be 25-30 years ago.
I started mongering at 17. Downtown Crazy Horse on Italian nights. It was effectively Mafia night and all the goombas wold take me along. Backstage Johnnys same deal hanging with goombas. Then I found Juicy Lucy's followed by Pinky's (affectionately named Pinkys Polyp Palace by my friends because one of the girls had a big skin tag on her anus) once JL became Model Tease. Of course Illusions and Mickey Finns. Never forget one late night at JL when the girl with the Rolling Stones tat on her ass pulled off her t-bar to reveal a dingleberry. So many memories. Still long for the days of turn down socks and wedding boots or f-me pumps with Black Velvet (even though I hated that song) blaring.
Now I'm going to show my age. Used to play pinball at the Temple Tavern and the go north a little to the Back Door up on N. Main.
Downtown you had Peeping Thomas' and some other dumpy clubs. Never had any takeout, but tried often. Guess I wasn't very good at it yet.
The Nest was my first strip club I ever went to with my friends. It was a juice bar and you only needed to be 18 to get in. They got naked so it seemed impressive to us high school kids back in the day. Did not have any negotiating skills or much cash to play with though.

Just after high school, our big thing was going up to XTC in Akron because it was fully nude and Canton didn't have anything like that. One of the clubs in Canton even required pasties on their "topless" bar. But shoot up to XTC and they'll shove their naked coon dog in your face. It was great.
I wasn't in the hobby then, but wish I was.

Ah yes The Nest was something else! That was one Gene's many businesses, and was there a long time starting out serving alcohol. When he lost the liquor license Norton thought the place would close down, but Gene turned it into a juice bar. Rumor had it he was knocking down $25 K to $30 K a week there and hiding the money. He had outrageous afterhours parties at his house out on Portage Lakes! I worked bail enforcement several years around that time so knew a lot of the LE, as well as those on the "other" side of the law. Gene would always take good care of us when we went in there, but he wanted something in return, information. He also owned The Treasure Chest and Rhonda's Toy Box if anyone remembers those places. The latter he had to get in his wife's name since he could no longer get a liquor license. Eventually he got in tax trouble, and also became a target for a certain Summit County Prosecutor who's first name was Maureen. She's the one who closed down many of the places mentioned here. One of Gene's old employees, Sheila, is still in the business managing Pete's place out on Wooster Rd. , Desiree's, which was something in it's heyday too. Suzie, the blonde barmaid who works at Francois's danced at The Nest and was a lot of fun at that time. So much more. LOL.

I think it became some sort of Christian Church.
I remember Ron's Crossroads too. Threw a rave party there after the Nest told us at the last minute we couldn't do it at their place (because an ex stripper gf told the owner told lies about me and my crew). I think Touch of Class was catty corner from Ron's Crossroads next to the temple building that has Arsenic and Old lace. I remember this really cute older blonde dancer that worked there that had the moves until I saw the company she kept. There was another strip bar a couple of blocks North that I can't remember the name but it had red velvet wallpaper. Kind of like an old burlesque feel to it. Linda's was on Cuyahoga Falls Avenue up from Diary Queen. I remember the floors were kind of crunchy and the candy / popcorn stale. LOL.
Desiree out in Stow / Kent was my first strip club I went to. Anybody remember Pete? Lots of good / great dancers out there and had many of take outs there. I think one of the girls ended up in an Ed Power's Dirty Debutante. I had tried to help her get a career in modeling but she kept showing up to the seasons high. It's funny, when I saw her in Dirty Debutante she was high then too.
I later gravitate to Cherries on E Market St that had the VIP room downstairs. Then started my spa addition with Stanley Spa that had this sweet Korean that worked there. There was another spa that was on Arlington Rd down by where the old Kmart use to be. It was in a White House. I almost went there the day it got busted. Thank god I didn't.

The place was always packed and usually fun. You could almost always get a HJ, BJ or even sex. I had girls come out to the car and then just go back into work when we were done. And remember the swing over the stage? Not really sexy but added to the party atmosphere.

Gene was HA and had a lot of HA at the place after the opened the upstairs bar!
Speaking about old bars made me think of the Sportsmans lounge on Grant St. Where Bottoms Up is now. I can still see Sandy shooting ping pong balls out of her pussy. That was a long time ago but does anyone remember it?
When I was young back in the 90's a buddy of mine introduced me to the strip club scene. We were from Warren and had two here. A good one and a nasty one. Both were bikini bars and not much was going on, but I knew nothing of the "hobby" back then so it probably was I just didn't know it. We used to venture out to Akron now and then and our favorite place was Lisa's Cabaret. That place was a blast. There was one girl there that I was dying to get in the sack that sadly never happened. My buddy one night took a dancer into one of those private rooms (I think it was just a curtain type thing) and had sex with her. When he came out an older black guy came over to me and and asked me if I wanted him to set something up for me. So he was obviously pimping out several of the girls there. Never did partake back then unfortunately.

I knew a guy that knew a guy that knew a guy who put in some cams and security for Gene at his house, The Nest and a couple other locations. Ca $h jobs, no questions asked. The guy remembered a couple house parties that were out of this world for a little guy from a little NE Ohio town. Yeah, hats off to Gene.
The Sportsman's Club. Was it Club or Lounge? Oh god, I remember going there a few times. Can't say I remember the name Sandy but there was a chick that I saw once pick up two balls and drop each into a glass. Later that same evening I saw her pick up a good part of a stack of maybe 25 quarters and drop them by one's and two's into a glass. I want to say that was a $5 show. Sometimes you got one quarter sometimes two. Back in the day when you needed change for a pay phone. What's sad is that I was so new to the scene and so naive that I can't remember her looks let alone her name because I was so fixated on what I had seen. That's when I knew I was interested in this new "sport".
Tig.

I had a good time talking with Ruby at OGD a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed myself and wish I would have gotten some contact information from her. If anyone has it and would be willing to be a go between I'd really like to see her again without having to go back to the club. Thanks!
Glad to see I'm not the only old fuck in here. The one bar didn't see mentioned was the Village Pump in Silver Lake. Way back in the day.
I think I was 17 or 18 when I met Pete in his first place in Stow. Times sure have changed. Girls that arent looking to support a habit can probably make more money showing the goods on the internet.
Fish.

Has anyone had any luck with the girls there it the one way out the way rootstown I think.
From what I've been told from another girl there (take that for what it's worth) day shift Mallory at Desiree's in Norton is now down to screwing customers for $40. Times must be tough. Good luck guys, be safe.

Inside, overall they probably have the hottest chicks dancing in the area but they have a strict no touch rule that most of the chicks go along with.
Outside, your chances are better and cheaper with the chicks from the lower end cubs.
