I also tried to go after a long 35 min drive in traffic. As soon as I was about to pull down side st I noticed a marked cruiser parked next to car wash. I was in my work van (not marked) with a frigging expired tag&didn't want to chance it. Drove to get my other favorite pink meat (3 way beef) at my spot in and Andover to kill time. Went back to Lav about 35-40 minutes later&the ahole was still there. So me&my blue balls drove back to a more familiar place, closer to home. Sucked too because I had FINALLY worked up the balls to take the long drive there, all for nothing. Definitely seems as if they are monitoring for whatever reason. Pretty sure if they had something worked out with owners, they wouldn't be scaring away clientele. Just my opinion. Stay safe!
I understand the concerns expressed here about LEO staking out Baldwin Street. But it seems strange to me that Methuen PD would commit men and resources to a weeks long surveillance of two relatively small time AMPs. Video cameras are cheaper and more efficient. These pages provide a fair amount of agreement that FS is rare if not available at all at both YL and Lav. Is Methuen PD watching the crosstown AMP with documented FS?
The real issue for local LEO is the use, sale, and distribution of illegal drugs. If I were a betting man, I would wager that the police are monitoring suspicious drug activity in the area, perhaps at the hotel. I may be wrong, and I encourage caution by everyone. Let's be more discreet when we cruise down Baldwin. Park in the back, don't hang in your car waiting your turn, and don't talk to the girls outside.
