The law says a passport but there's obviously a LOT of discretion given to the Border Patrol (BP) officers. That said, the word required means "compulsory, essential, indispensable", so if it was "required" it wouldn't be circumvented by the BP officers nor would they have discretion in the matter. So yes, it's written in as the law, but until it's fully implemented or otherwise enforced it's worthless babble.

Finished at Adelitas bar. We planned on getting home around 2. Didn't get home until 5 am LOL. No line going home. Best weekend ever. I think I'm done with american mongering for now.

I normally take off the last couple of weeks of November to visit family and friends but after my experience at Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club, I decided to take an extra weekend this year and make a return visit to Tijuana. I originally thought about actually staying in Tijuana to avoid the inefficiency of border crossings, car parks, etc., but at the last minute an old classmate responded to a note of mine from last summer, and invited me for a stay with them in El Cajon.

Hence, I ended up visiting Tijuana on a Saturday night (something I was hoping to avoid due to expected crowding), but things worked out okay after all. I did the same park on USA Side, walk across, and taxi into the Zona Norte neighborhood. I directed the taxi driver to drop me at Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club, and I paid him $5. HKGC was pretty much as I remembered it, but it was definitely more crowded and louder this time around. After looking around a bit, I found a table ordered a beer and was sort of looking for the honey that I hooked up with in August. Unbeknownst to me, one of the dancers had noticed me when I came in, and quickly she came and Sat. On my lap. My beer arrived, and I was just getting acquainted with the chica, when a very drunk 20-something fellow with a Stanford polo shirt approached and said, "Hey, motherf* I was just about to f* her". The good news is that he had a more-sober friend that restrained him, and no blood was spilled. A bouncer eventually came over and I think escorted them out of the building.

The lighting seemed a bit strange to me and put a sort of orangeish tint to everything so it seems everyone has a bronze tan, even me! I took a seat by myself, and was promptly ignored by everyone for about 5 minutes. I eventually got thirsty and found that the bartender spoke English, but was happier when I ordered in Spanish. As I made my way back to my half-booth a 5' 7" bleached blonde chica said "Hola", and grabbed my arm. She really wasn't my type, and while her 34 B-25-26,135 lb frame is nicer than the vast majority of women in the USA, she is a bit beefier than my preference. I didn't wish to insult her, so I simply said I wasn't looking for a blonde woman tonight, and she gave me a shoulder shrug and a smirk and walked away.

I turned around to sit and found that the bench / booth was now occupied by a couple of college aged gents. They were both twisting their heads back and forth so quickly I thought they might have self-inflicted neck injuries. I stood and watched the stage show for a second and looked around for an open table. A few feet away I could hear a frustrated fellow trying to negotiate in English with a chica who either didn't understand or didn't want to understand. A couple minutes later she got up and left and he went off toward the bar. I was just about to hijack the table when a juicy target crossed into my radar. I would describe her as a Sofia Vergara lookalike, but minus 10 years. I closed the distance quickly, and greeted her in Spanish. She said she was just about to go on stage, but if I had time she would be worth the wait. As I had already had a bit of exercise for the night, I figured I'the watch her dance, and if I didn't like what I saw, I would move on.

The table I eventually got had a good view of the stage, and I watched "Sofia" demonstrate that she not only moved well, but was very flexible. After her dance set, I almost thought she left, but upon closer inspection saw that she had adjourned to what I imagine is the locker room. About 5 minutes later she re-appeared and made a beeline for my table. She is probably 5'11' in her heels and I would say 36 D-24-36 and 130 lb. We chatted for a bit (she speaks some English), and she said she had been dancing for 10 years. I complemented her skill and she thanked me. Came to the board a couple years ago and got some good updates and figured I'd come back before my next visit.

Visited the zona rosa Christmas Eve two years ago and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. A couple of pics as a thank you.

With that in mind any tips or updates on the zone, girls or crossing that has changed in the last few years?

I have a passport Card does that help or no difference in crossing back into the US?

Is the wait still insane?

Any concerns walking during the day from the crossing point to the zone?

Just booked a trip today. While doing some research I haven't seen a lot talking about travel from San Diego to Tijuana only border crossing. I assume that the taxi that picks you up at the beach in San Diego and drops you at Hong Kong then takes you back doesn't exist because of the unpredictable wait times at the border. I guess that I am ok walking across but is there taxi's or buses that run on the American side 24/7 and what is the cost from say downtown SD to the border?

Coming in Mid February for 5 or 6 days. Researching rather to stay in SD or maybe Tijuana or a beach town in Mexico and drive in a rental car back and forth. Would be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat concerned about safety being a newbie to Tijuana. Not as worried about being in town as I am getting to and from Zone Norte.

At least that's what it used to be called. In Tijuana in October (sorry for delay in report. Been procrastinating) on a Thursday night for first time since 2008. I used to enjoy dumpster diving in the Revo bars. I'd get a gem every now and then. So, started out there on this trip.

My old haunts (Equipalles, Isis, Unicornio, etc). Long gone. El Tigre still hanging on, although I couldn't see any name above the door.

Went in to check it out. Every cautious of the TV scam. Met Marlina, cute little girl (yes, real), only one there (and I was the only customer). Bought here a couple of drinks and then accepted the invitation for a $50 privado. Upstairs in the scuzzy couch area she stripped down showing a nice, although not skinny, body. I made it in to Tijuana last night. Luckily left the deep freeze that is happening at home on Sunday. I rented a car and drove it to the long term lot at the border crossing and walked across. Simply amazing how easy it was. Guess Mexico doesn't care what you bring into their country. Jumped in a cab and headed to the Zona about 3 pm.

Didn't have a place to stay reserved because truthfully I didn't know if I was going to stay. After meeting up with a streetwalker and busting a quick one I went to HK. While there I met Rosanna. 5'10 165 lbs light complexion with the junk in the trunk. Tucked a couple buck and agreed on a 30 min session upstairs. Full Service was provided. Being that I speak 3rd year high school Spanish and know the naughty words it was easy to agree on what I was looking for. Second nut in three hours means she was doing something right. $.55 for her $.06 for the room.

Finished and walked to Tropical bar. Very few dancers but saw a sign for rooms for rent. Asked to see one and they look just like the one I just came from. Nothing fancy but a bed. They wanted $35 for the night. If your safe and clean you can't go wrong but I negotiated. I offered $75 cash for three nights he came back with $80 and I agreed. So what is that with tax and everything $26.50 or so a night. Not a bad deal.

Settled in my room for a couple hours catching up on emails and went out last night. Not that I felt totally safe during the day I sure felt a while lot safer than I did at night. I didn't stray far and I didn't stand on the street except to walk to the ally and look down and see twice as many SW's as were there during the day. Went back to HK around 10 pm. Rosanna was gone so settled for another girl who's name I couldn't understand at all. I asked three times and decided to give up. Wouldn't matte to day anyway. Cost me $.60 plus the $.06 this time. 30 minutes later I was done for the night.

Left and went to Adelita's. Just wanted to check it out before tomorrow night. Ended up just tipping and having too many beers to preform again. Came back to the room and slept until noon. Found a taco stand and had lunch then took a cab back to the border. Thought I would get in the car and go to the SD Zoo, but the line was unbelievable. How possibly could all these people legally be in Mexico and want to legally get o the US all at once. Cab took me back to hotel where I sit as I type. Going to stay tonight for sure and maybe Wednesday then head back to the US.

No worries that should keep a horny latina lover from Tijuana. The various risks in Mexico are distinct to each geographical region just as they are in the US. Just as people living outside the US should not fear a trip here because of some horror story that is reported out of Detroit, don't assume that what you've heard about going on in Juarez or Michoacan is also occurring in Tijuana. Tijuana has had its moments and there is still cartel conflict, but it is at present surgical and out of sight and tourists minding their own business are not targeted or in the line of fire. Safer for innocents than my hometown LA where gangsta's hold their handguns sideways when they shoot because it looks cooler than to aim, and innocent bystanders get full of lead instead of the targeted rival gangsta in too many instances. Petty hoods in TJ almost never have guns and the cartel soldiers who do break discipline much less than armed criminals in the USA.

There are still some rateros walking around from time to time who rely on choke holds instead of guns, but almost never on the two main monger drags of Calle Coahuila which hosts Adelita Bar, and Callejon Coahuila which is the so-called alley. Just common sense that crimes don't break out in crowds, but in desolate locations. Even hoods have common sense about choosing where a mugging will go down. If you're walking alone maintain 360 degree awareness particularly if you are not on one of the "Coahuilas". If you think somebody is following you with bad intent step aside into a bar or store front and let them pass. Same basic street smarts you utilize when walking the inner city streets of any big city in the USA.

Don't let any street hustlers stop you for any "pleasant conversation" about chicas or any damn thing and that includes the so-called "walkers" who are drug addicted street girls always on the move who speak English and make fantastic low price offers for all the service you can handle. They actually are good for it but the problem is being seen hanging out with walkers or street hustlers provides a pretense for those other rateros known as La Policia to harass you. Real SGs hold tight to their spot and don't approach from another one or walk down the street with you soliciting. Also much cuter and cleaner than walkers bud sadly provide inferior service for more money! Oh well, that's the price of common sense.

As to the $6 HK hotel room, that is probably a typo or an error in using the insanely useless monetary code that some employ on this site for no good reason. An accurate reading using the code means this poster wrote that he paid $106 for the room at Cascades and $155 for the chica. In fact I believe the short term rate at Cascades is now up to $15 or $16 (less for SG sessions). Also pretty sure the guy paid $55 to the chica which is in the vicinity of the going rate. Most hot HK and AB chicas will now ask for $80-100 US if you ask how much, but most will take $60 if you hold firm. My first rule of dealing with service providers in Tijuana from sex workers to taxi drivers is NEVER to ask how much, but to pay the fair going rate at the end of the session or the ride. I rarely get asked for more money than I hand over. In Mexico asking "how much" is an invitation to haggle. So you'll almost always be asked to pay too high a price and a counter offer is expected. Many mongers and understandably especially newbies pay $100 for $60 short term sessions.

The best advice though is to treat the locals with respect and you will get it back.

V is available over the counter all over Tijuana but there are no farmacias along the chica strips of Calle or Callejon Coahuila. You'll need to venture off the main drag or find it in another area. Some bars sell it in the bathrooms but it is way overpriced and I wouldn't trust the quality. In any event it is no cheaper in Mexico than the US for the name brand. Generics are available for about half price or less of the name brand. During the day you could try one of many farmacias along Constitucion named either National or International at the corner of Constitucion and Calle 2 just a block from where the P4P district begins. It's right across a pedestrian walkway from a MacDonalds of all the damn Mexican restaurants! They have good quality, service and decent prices. Ask for Viagra and they'll instantly show you the decent generics first, and they work fine! Have your cab drop you there and you can easily and safely walk another 1-2 blocks along Constitucion to arrive in the zona panocha. If you're new to Tijuana, I would not recommend the same short walk after dark.

Would love to see what Tijuana is about but I was hoping someone who visits frequently would be willing to take me down one afternoon. Wednesday is my be day and I can't think of a better way to spend the day.

Stick to that area, keep your head up, and you'll be fine.

Don't walk anywhere.

So for everything I read and all the worry I had a great time in Tijuana. I didn't get down there until after 8, but I did as I read. Parked, walked across the border, got in a cab rode to the block I needed to be on and all was perfect. I stopped in several bars before partaking in some activities with Vanessa. A hot little 19 why / o with a tight body, she was outside a hotel just beyond Playboy. After my romp with her I went to Hong Kong to enjoy the girls on stage for a little bit before heading back around to meet another young beauty (don't remember the name) near Hong Kong. If you are driving, I recommend leaving your car in the parking lot and crossing. Take the "Last US Exit", turn right, then right again immediately into the first parking lot. From the bus stop in front of the parking lot, you can take the Mexicoach directly into Tijuana. Cost is $3 dollars, or you can pay $5 for round trip ticket. Cheaper, easier, and safer than walking. The Mexicoach station is on Revolution near 7th, but you can ask to get off at 2nd and Rev.

If you are coming in on the Trolley, you can take the SDMTS bus '907 via San Ysidro' ($2.25) or walk west over the overpass to the parking lot, then grab the Mexicoach (Be advised, lately it has not been running on Saturdays).

A very real advantage to using the Mexicoach on the return is that they take you to a special entrance wwith very short lines.

If you do need to take a cab in Tijuana, I advise only using the TaxiLibre's, and ALWAYS negotiate the price up front. Centro to the border should NEVER be more than $5. Centro to the Airport about $10. (Mexicoach will take you from the parking lot to the Airport for about that too.

It is easier to find a hotel, and some have lower prices Sun-Thur. Sun pm is the worst time to cross back, but almost empty a 3 am. Rent-by-the-hour hotels are OK, but I recommend a midrange like. Lleyva. Around $25. Includes parking. More importantly, you have greater security, a good shower, a place you can leave stuff while you cruise. Most importantly, staff isn't watching the clock. If you have the stamina to make multiple contacts, it is actually cheaper than are-be-T-H hotels.

I went to Hong Kong weekend before last. I went with a buddy on a whim as we were visiting SD. I had only researched enough to know that HK was considered the best in town. It did not disappoint. I had not seen anything like the shaving cream / soap shows before. When we got there we just caught the last couple minutes of one. For reasons passing understanding, the women would pass three or four $50 offers to get one $70 offer. Then began passing 2 or 3 $70 offers holding out for the $90 offer. I was astonished how small the Zona was in Nogales. With Phoenix and Tucson within relatively close access, the Zona there should be hopping. Instead, it is a pathetic, dismal affair. After all, why would one go there when comparable services are available locally. The same thing happened in Cabo and Ensenada. After the cruise ships started coming in, the market was ruined.

A first timer is probably not going to hold his ground to save $20-$30. I agree, the tip was over the top.

I always parking on street in San Ysidro. There is plenty of street parking on Border Village Rd. Border Village Road runs parallel to San Ysidro Blvd. This located where the Kentucky fried chicken is located. The parking Border Village Rd is 2 hour parking. But you can park all day by the Goodwill or by the strip mall where Oreilly auto parts is located. I have never had any problems and a cop told me that auto thefts is not a problem.
